  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Tosses five scoreless frames

Peralta did not factor into Saturday's decision against the Giants, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out six across five innings. Peralta generated 13 whiffs on 96 pitches (54 strikes) to line himself up for the win before the Giants tacked on three runs in the sixth frame. Peralta has kept his opponents scoreless in three straight starts and is in the midst of the best season of his career. His 15 wins leads the majors, and his 2.68 ERA (across 147.2 innings) ranks eighth among qualified starters. He's slated to start against the Diamondbacks at home next week.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Hurls six one-hit, scoreless frames

Peralta (15-5) earned the win over the Cubs on Monday, allowing one hit and issuing three walks while striking out six batters over six scoreless innings. Peralta was dominant in what was slated to be the first game of a doubleheader (Game 2 ended up being postponed), cruising through six scoreless frames on 95 pitches. The only hit he allowed was a first-inning single by Seiya Suzuki, and all three free passes he issued came to consecutive batters in the fourth. Peralta recovered from that wild stretch to retire the final eight batters he faced, finishing with his second straight scoreless quality start. The right-hander is in the midst of a career-best campaign -- he leads MLB with a career-high 15 victories and ranks 15th with 154 punchouts over 142.2 frames. Peralta's 2.78 ERA is on pace for a career-best mark.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Pushed back to Tuesday

Peralta will make his next start Tuesday versus the Pirates, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Peralta was expected to toe the rubber in Monday's series opener with Pittsburgh, but he'll now be pushed back a day. The right-hander has labored through his last couple starts, but he still owns a 3.03 ERA over 24 outings this season, and he will now throw opposite Pirates phenom Paul Skenes on Tuesday. Jose Quintana will draw the start against Pittsburgh on Monday.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Sharp in 13th win

Peralta (13-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 7-2 victory over Atlanta, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out seven. The right-hander racked up 31 called or swinging strikes among his 108 pitches (63 total strikes) in a typically dominant, if not exactly efficient, performance. Peralta could push himself into NL Cy Young contention with a strong finish to the season -- his 13 wins are tied for the major-league lead with Garrett Crochet, and Peralta boasts top-10 marks in the Senior Circuit in ERA (3.03), WHIP (1.14) and strikeouts (141). His chances of collecting win No. 14 look good in his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Pirates.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Lacks command in loss

Peralta (12-5) took the loss against the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts over four innings. Peralta tied a season high with four walks and was undone by a four-run third inning in his shortest start of the season. The 29-year-old has now yielded 10 earned runs over 14 innings in his past three outings after opening July with three straight quality starts. He owns a 3.08 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 134:46 K:BB across 125.2 innings and will aim to rebound in a road matchup with Atlanta early next week.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Strikes out nine in no-decision

Peralta did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with nine strikeouts over five innings. Peralta gave up a solo homer in the third inning but was otherwise sharp, generating 17 swinging strikes on 98 pitches. It was a solid rebound effort after the All-Star allowed four runs against the Dodgers on Saturday, and he's now yielded three earned runs or fewer in 20 of his 22 starts this season. He'll take a 2.81 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 131:42 K:BB across 121.2 innings into a home matchup with the Cubs next week.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Secures 12th win

Peralta (12-4) allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Saturday. Peralta stumbled, allowing all four runs in the third inning, but he didn't squander the second lead the Brewers built. This ended his stretch of three straight quality starts, but he's impressively won seven outings in a row, posting a 3.18 ERA and 44:9 K:BB over that span. On the year, he's been even better, maintaining a 2.85 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 122:40 K:BB through 116.2 innings across 21 starts. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home in a favorable matchup against the Marlins.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Another stellar start

Peralta (11-4) picked up the win Sunday against Washington, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out seven. Peralta tallied a third consecutive quality start and pitched into the seventh inning for the first time since his second start of the season. The 29-year-old has come away with a win in six straight appearances, and he owns a 2.60 ERA and a 40:6 K:BB across 34.2 innings during that stretch. He's tied with Max Fried for the league lead in wins. Peralta is slated to pitch against the Dodgers next weekend.

Peralta (10-4) picked up the win Monday against the Dodgers, allowing five hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over six scoreless innings. Peralta delivered his fourth scoreless start of the season, shutting down the Dodgers and striking out more than six batters for the sixth time this season. The 29-year-old has allowed fewer than four runs in 10 consecutive starts, logging a 6-1 record, a 2.82 ERA and a 59:18 K:BB across 54.1 innings. He'll look to keep the ball rolling this weekend against Washington.

Peralta (9-4) earned the win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six. It's the fourth straight win for Peralta, who's held opponents to three runs or fewer in all but one start this season. The right-hander sports a 2.91 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP and 104:35 K:BB through 18 starts (99 innings) this year. Peralta is currently scheduled to face the Marlins on the road in his next outing.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Game postponed Tuesday

Peralta won't start as scheduled Tuesday against the Mets since the game was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up via a split doubleheader Wednesday, with Peralta poised to take the mound for one of those contests. The right-hander is 3-0 in his past four starts and has a 28.6 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB across 22 innings during that span.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Strikes out six in win

Peralta (7-4) earned the win against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings. All three runs surrendered by Peralta came via the long ball, and he departed at 86 pitches with an 8-3 lead before the Cubs made a late push. While the 29-year-old snapped a streak of three straight quality starts, he's now yielded three earned runs or fewer in 15 of 16 outings this season. He'll carry a 2.76 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 90:34 K:BB across 88 innings into a home matchup with the Pirates next week.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Goes six scoreless in no-decision

Peralta didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Padres, allowing just one hit and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out three. It was an excellent outing from Peralta, who had allowed six runs over 11 innings in his previous two starts coming into Sunday. However, the Brewers failed to provide any run support in an eventual 1-0 defeat. Overall, Peralta is 5-4 this season with a 2.69 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 78:31 K:BB across 14 starts (77 innings). He's currently scheduled to face the Cardinals at home in his next outing.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Takes fourth loss Tuesday

Peralta (5-4) took the loss Tuesday against the Reds, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out nine in six innings. Peralta got off to a blistering start, striking out five of the first six batters he faced while blanking the Reds through the first three innings. He then served up a two-run homer in the fourth and exited the game with two runners on in the seventh, one of which came in to score after Peralta was lifted. The nine strikeouts were a season high for Peralta and Tuesday marked his first time reaching six innings since May 4. Walks remain an issue for him, however, as he's walked 14 batters in his last five starts. Peralta's next start lines up for at home versus Atlanta next week.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Fans six in no-decision

Peralta came away with a no-decision Wednesday, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks over five innings in a 6-5 extra-inning win over the Red Sox. He struck out six. The right-hander piled up 108 pitches (69 strikes) as he failed to last six innings for the fourth straight start, and Peralta served up a homer for the third consecutive outing when Ceddanne Rafaela got hold of a 94.8 mph fastball in the second inning. Despite his inefficiency, Wednesday's performance was only the third time this season in 12 trips to the mound that Peralta has been tagged for more than two earned runs. He'll take a 2.77 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 66:26 K:BB through 65 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Cincinnati.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Can't escape fifth inning

Peralta didn't factor into the decision in Friday's loss to the Pirates, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters across 4.1 innings. Friday's outing certainly wasn't the most efficient of Peralta's career, as he had already reached 101 pitches (58 strikes) by the time he turned things over to the bullpen in the fifth inning after walking in a run with the bases loaded. The 28-year-old righty owns a 2.55 ERA and 1.12 WHIP through 60 frames on the year and is tentatively lined up to make his next start in Philadelphia next weekend.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Cruises to fifth win

Peralta (5-3) earned the win Sunday against the Twins, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five. The only blemish on the Milwaukee ace's 90-pitch performance was a Royce Lewis solo homer in the fourth inning. Peralta has been a dependable starter over his last six outings, going 4-2 with a 2.78 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB across 27.1 innings. Through 55.2 total frames, the 28-year-old sports a 2.59 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with a 9.2 K/9. Peralta is currently scheduled to make his next start against the feeble Pirates in Pittsburgh next weekend.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Yields four runs

Peralta (4-3) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings Monday, striking out four and taking a loss against Cleveland. Peralta delivered three scoreless frames before Gabriel Arias ripped a three-run double in the fourth inning. Kyle Manzardo later knocked Peralta out of the game with an RBI single in the sixth. Peralta made his first start since May 4 due to a minor groin issue and it's possible that was a lingering issue in Monday's disappointing outing. He now owns a 2.66 ERA with a 52:18 K:BB through 50.2 innings this season. Peralta is currently lined up to face the Orioles at home next week.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Could get extra rest before start

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Peralta (groin) hasn't undergone imaging, but the pitcher could be given "a day or two" of extra rest before his next start, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Peralta was lifted early from Sunday's start versus the Cubs due to groin soreness. A team off day Thursday affords Peralta with at least one day of extra rest, and the Brewers could give him an additional day by having Tobias Myers start Saturday on normal rest and giving Peralta the ball Sunday in Tampa Bay. More information on Peralta's status should be available later this week.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Nursing groin issue

Manager Pat Murphy said Peralta was removed from his start in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Cubs due to groin soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Peralta didn't appear visibly injured when he was lifted, but the groin issue explains why he was removed after tossing six scoreless innings and 89 pitches. He stayed in the game long enough to get the win and to improve to 4-2 on the season, and he finished with seven strikeouts while scattering four hits and one walk on the afternoon. The right-hander doesn't believe the injury is a serious concern, per McCalvy, so he may be able to stay on schedule and pitch next weekend in Tampa Bay.
