  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Holds Tigers to one run in Game 2

Bibee yielded one run on five hits and three walks over 4.2 frames Wednesday, taking a no-decision in a win over the Tigers in Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series. He struck out six. Bibee had to pitch out of a jam right away, with the first two batters of the game reaching on a single and an error. He was up to the challenge, fanning the next three hitters. He permitted one run in the fourth on a Javier Baez RBI single and was spared from being charged with another when Zach McKinstry ran into an out on the bases. Bibee was unable to get through the fifth inning after issuing a two-out walk to put a second runner on, but the Guardians' bullpen then shut things down the rest of the way in a 6-1 win. The righty was trending in the right direction late in the regular season with a 1.30 ERA in September, and he kept it going in his first outing of the postseason.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Wins third straight

Bibee (12-11) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over the Tigers, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five. The right-hander extended his win streak to three starts and his quality-start streak to four with another sharp performance, tossing 63 of 105 pitches for strikes. Bibee's produced a 1.30 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 26:5 K:BB through 27.2 September innings, helping the Guardians make history by overcoming a 15.5-game deficit and catching the Tigers in the AL Central -- they now sit one game up with four to play. Unless he's needed this weekend to help clinch a playoff spot, Bibee will put his 2025 regular season in the books with a 4.24 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 162:54 K:BB through 182.1 innings.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Sharp again in win

Bibee (11-11) earned the win Thursday over the Tigers, allowing a run on four hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out eight. Bibee's turned in three straight quality starts, giving up just four runs over 21.2 innings while striking out 21 in that span. The 26-year-old right-hander's lowered his ERA to 4.34 on the season with a 1.23 WHIP and 157:52 K:BB through 30 starts (176.1 innings). Bibee will look to keep rolling in his next outing, tentatively scheduled as a home rematch with the Tigers next week.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Tosses two-hit shutout

Bibee (10-11) picked up the win Friday, allowing two hits over nine scoreless innings in a 4-0 victory over the White Sox. He struck out 10 without walking a batter. Both hits were one-out singles in the third inning, and the right-hander quickly escaped the jam by coaxing a double-play grounder out of Mike Tauchman. Bibee racked up 35 called or swinging strikes among his 103 pitches (74 total strikes) as he produced his first career shutout, and the first by any Cleveland pitcher since Zach Plesac in 2019. The 10 Ks also tied Bibee's season high, and he's lasted at least six innings in four straight trips to the mound, posting a 3.54 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 20:6 K:BB in 28 innings over that stretch. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Minnesota.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Logs quality start in no-decision

Bibee did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rays, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 6.2 innings. Bibee opened with four scoreless frames before giving up a run in both the fifth and sixth innings. The 26-year-old notched his first quality start since July 21 and just his second outing in his past eight allowing fewer than four earned runs. He'll take a 4.69 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 139:50 K:BB across 161.1 innings into a home matchup with the White Sox next weekend.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Gives up four runs in no-decision

Bibee allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Bibee has allowed four runs in each of his last five starts, though he's pitched into the sixth inning in each of his last three outings. While he's allowing too many runs to be reliable, he hasn't taken a loss since July 2 versus the Cubs, going 5-0 across his last eight starts. Bibee is at a 4.62 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 129:44 K:BB through 142.1 innings over 25 starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Rays.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Earns win despite late struggles

Bibee (8-9) earned the win over the White Sox on Friday, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven across 5.1 innings. Bibee looked comfortable through the early innings, yielding just three hits over his first five frames, before running into trouble in the sixth, when a pair of walks and a two-RBI single from Curtis Mead ended his day. The right-hander has now been tagged for four earned runs in each of his last three outings and hasn't held an opponent to fewer than two runs since May 22. While Bibee continues to miss bats at a respectable rate, his occasional command lapses and tendency to unravel late in starts have become real concerns.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Falls short of five-inning mark

Bibee allowed four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings in a no-decision Saturday versus the Twins. Bibee has given up 13 runs (11 earned) over his last three starts, posting a 17:2 K:BB across 16.2 innings in that span. He started well Saturday, but a two-run home run by Matt Wallner in the fourth inning and another rally by the Twins in the fifth ended Bibee's outing early. He threw 64 of 93 pitches for strikes while seeing his three-start winning streak come to a close, and he's now at a 4.51 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 112:35 K:BB through 125.2 innings over 22 starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be a favorable road matchup versus the White Sox.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Gives up two homers in win

Bibee (7-9) allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out eight without walking a batter over five innings to earn the win in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Royals. Bibee was tagged for two-run home runs by Freddy Fermin and Bobby Witt, but he got enough run support from the Guardians to escape with the win. This was just the sixth time in 21 starts that Bibee has allowed multiple homers, though two of those instances have come in his five outings in July. He's allowed 20 runs (18 earned) across 26.1 innings this month, though he's also won three of his starts in that span. Overall, he has a 4.39 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 107:33 K:BB across 121 innings this season. The 26-year-old's next start is projected to be at home versus the Twins.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Earns fifth win

Bibee (5-9) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the White Sox. He struck out five. The right-hander picked up his first win since May 22, with the only damage off him coming on a two-run single by Kyle Teel in the fourth inning. It was an encouraging outing for Bibee, who came into the start with a 5.13 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 40.1 innings across seven starts since the beginning of June. For the season, he now holds a 4.29 ERA and 1.24 WHIP through 109 innings in 19 starts.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Another hard-luck loss

Bibee (4-8) took the loss Thursday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits over six innings. He struck out seven. Bibee has gone six straight outings without a win, despite posting three quality starts in that span. The 26-year-old right-hander sports a 3.80 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP and 82:26 K:BB across 16 starts (94.2 innings) this season, and he's already matched his career high with eight losses. Bibee will hope for better luck his next time out, though he lines up for a tough matchup next week against the Cubs.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Lasts five innings in no-decision

Bibee allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Saturday. Bibee has walked multiple batters in three of his last four starts, a span in which he has two losses and two no-decisions while allowing 11 runs over 22.2 innings. He needed 104 pitches (61 strikes) in this start, which was a bit inefficient after a rocky first inning. Bibee is now at a 3.79 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 65:26 K:BB through 80.2 innings over 14 starts. The 26-year-old righty is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Athletics.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Fans six in quality start

Bibee did not factor into the decision in Sunday's game against the Astros, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six across 6.1 innings. He did not issue a walk. Bibee kept the Astros off the board through the first six innings. He looked to be in line for the win with the Guardians up 2-0, but he yielded a two-run double to Cam Smith in the seventh before being pulled. Bibee is up to six quality starts this season and boasts a 3.81 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 62:23 K:BB across 75.2 innings, but the 14 home runs he's allowed are fourth-most in the American League. He's slated to start against the Mariners on the road next weekend.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Surrenders 10 hits in loss

Bibee (3-4) took the loss in Friday's game against the Reds after giving up five runs (four earned) on 10 hits and a walk while striking out four batters in six innings. Bibee put his team in an early hole by allowing five runs in the first three innings. He managed to settle in during the next three frames, but the early deficit proved to be too large for the Guardians' offense to come back from. After taking losses in consecutive starts, the 26-year-old righty will look to turn things around next week against the Twins.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Allows one run over seven frames

Bibee didn't factor in the decision Tuesday against the Twins despite giving up one run on five hits and no walks across seven innings. He struck out five. The right-hander had little trouble dispatching Minnesota outside the fifth inning, which is when Ty France knotted the game 1-1 with a solo homer. Bibee threw 64 of 92 pitches for strikes, and the improved command was a welcome sight with it being the first time through six starts this year that he didn't walk a batter. The long ball continues to be a concern as he's already given up nine homers, but Bibee is trending up with just three runs allowed in his past two starts.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Tagged for six runs in loss

Bibee (1-2) came away with the loss against the Orioles on Thursday. He allowed six runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five across 5.2 innings. Bibee was hurt by the long ball Thursday, as three home runs accounted for all six of the runs against him. The right-hander hasn't allowed a run in two of his four starts this season, but in his other two outings he's given up a combined 13 runs (including seven homers) over 9.2 innings. Things won't get easier for Bibee in his next start, which is lined up for next week at home against Aaron Judge and the Yankees.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Picks up first win

Bibee (1-0) allowed two hits and two walks over 5.2 shutout innings Sunday, striking out two and earning a win over the Royals. Bibee was in line to be Cleveland's Opening Day starter, but an illness pushed his start back a few days. He coughed up a couple of extra-base knocks Sunday but was able to skate around danger in the scoreless performance. While the two punchouts and nine whiffs are a bit disappointing, the 26-year-old righty picked up where he left off last year after posting a 3.47 ERA across 173.2 regular-season frames. Bibee is lined up for a road matchup against the Angels next weekend.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Signs five-year extension

Bibee signed a five-year, $48 million contract extension with the Guardians on Saturday. Bibee's new deal will buy out all three of his arbitration years and potentially two years beyond that if the Guardians elect to exercise their club option in 2030. The 26-year-old righty has been one of Cleveland's most reliable starters since reaching the big leagues, turning in a 3.25 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across his two MLB seasons. He's continued to look sharp in spring training, throwing nine shutout innings over his two starts, and he's set to take the mound for Cleveland on Thursday in what will be his first career Opening Day start.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Looks regular-season-ready

Bibee allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four over six scoreless innings in Monday's Cactus League start against the Reds. This was just the second Cactus League outing for Bibee, who looked like he's ready to be Cleveland's ace. He's allowed three hits and two walks while striking out seven over nine Cactus League innings. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt has yet to name his Opening Day starter -- Cleveland is one of two teams that have not named one (Arizona is the other) -- but it would be a shock if the right-hander isn't given that honor. Bibee's five-day schedule lines up perfectly for him to get the ball against the Royals on March 27.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Makes first spring start

Bibee allowed two hits and one walk while striking out three over three scoreless innings in Thursday's spring start against Arizona. Bibee sparkled in an efficient Cactus League debut, throwing 37 pitches (23 strikes). He made himself into the Guardians' ace in 2024 and looked nearly ready to handle that role again Thursday. A key to the right-hander's development was learning to control his emotions on the mound and not letting one adverse event affect him, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. "I think [I'm] definitely a little more under control than last year's spring training," Bibee said. Evidence of that came in his final inning Thursday. After committing a throwing error on a pickoff attempt, Bibee turned his focus to the batter and got Geraldo Perdomo on a called third strike.
