Rotowire
Fulford went 3-for-4 with one run scored in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Diamondbacks.
During his current stint in the big leagues, Fulford has gone 4-for-14 with three strikeouts and one walk. He has been in the lineup for four of seven games since he was called up last Sunday, making two starts each at catcher and designated hitter. He's also started twice against right-handed pitchers, so it doesn't appear he'll be strictly platooned. Over 57 plate appearances in the majors, the 26-year-old has posted a .259/.281/.389 slash line with one home run, 11 RBI, five runs scored, one stolen base, two doubles and one triple.

Fulford has served as the Rockies' backup catcher since June 6, when he was promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque following the release of Jacob Stallings was released. The rookie has started only three of nine games since his promotion, but he made a strong case for earning more work after his big performance Sunday. Rockies' Braxton Fulford: Gets first big-league call-up
Rotowire
The Rockies selected Fulford's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
Colorado opened up room for Fulford on the 26-man active roster by placing Kris Bryant (back) on the injured list. Fulford had gotten off to a strong start to the season at Albuquerque, slashing .395/.477/.868 with five home runs and 10 RBI across 44 plate appearances. The 26-year-old will provide a third catcher behind Hunter Goodman and Jacob Stallings. Fulford's arrival could allow Goodman to see more time as the Rockies' designated hitter following Bryant's placement on the IL, which would allow the more defensive-minded Stallings to see more opportunities behind the plate.
