  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Opening Wednesday's contest

Eisert will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. The Dodgers' lineup typically features two left-handed hitters (Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman) in the top four spots in the order, so the White Sox will likely have the left-handed Eisert work the opening frame or two before exiting the contest. Right-hander Sean Burke is slated to work in bulk relief behind Eisert.

  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Secures second save

Eisert picked up the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Astros. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out one over a perfect inning. With no established closer in place, Eisert became the first White Sox reliever to notch multiple saves this season. After a rough April (6.00 ERA), the southpaw has found his stride, posting a 1.74 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 12.2 K/9 over his past 10 appearances. This season, the 27-year-old owns a 4.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 28.1 innings.

  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Serving as opener Tuesday

Eisert will be deployed as the White Sox's opening pitcher in front of bulk reliever Jonathan Cannon in Tuesday's game against the Reds, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports. The White Sox haven't used an opener since an April 29 loss to the Brewers, but manager Will Venable may want the left-handed Eisert to begin the game on the mound since the Reds typically have the left-handed-hitting TJ Friedl serve as their leadoff hitter. Eisert is unlikely to work more than one or two innings before turning the game over to Cannon, who previously followed an opener in that April 26 contest against the Athletics and ended up covering a season-high 7.2 innings.

  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Earns first major-league save

Eisert collected the save in Thursday's 3-0 rain-shortened win over the Twins, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in a scoreless seventh inning. He did not issue a walk. Eisert was brought in for the seventh inning and needed 14 pitches (eight strikes) to get through the frame, only giving up a double to Christian Vazquez. The game was delayed following the seventh inning due to rain and was called an hour later, giving Eisert the first save of his major-league career. He has a 4.76 ERA. 1.32 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB across 11.1 innings this season.

  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Recalled from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Eisert from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday. Eisert takes the roster spot of Fraser Ellard (hamstring), who was placed on the 15-day IL on Friday. Eisert is back in the big leagues after already appearing in three games out of the bullpen for the White Sox this season. He pitched to the tune of a 12.00 ERA across three innings of work before being sent down to the minors earlier in the week.

  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Claimed by ChiSox

The White Sox claimed Eisert off waivers from the Rays on Friday. Eisert has now gone from the Blue Jays to the Rays to the White Sox since late January. The left-hander should have a good shot to win a spot in the Chicago bullpen, although he does have minor-league options remaining. Eisert allowed three runs over 6.2 frames during his brief time in the big leagues in 2024.

  • Blue Jays' Brandon Eisert: Optioned to Triple-A

Eisert was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday. Eisert was called up Sunday but did not get into a game with the big club this time around. Luis Frias will take his place in the Jays' bullpen.

  • Blue Jays' Brandon Eisert: Called up Sunday

The Blue Jays recalled Eisert from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. Eisert was recently up with the Blue Jays as an extra player for a doubleheader, though he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since late July. The left-hander has given up three earned runs with no strikeouts and four walks across 4.2 frames in the majors this season.

  • Blue Jays' Brandon Eisert: Appointed as 27th man

The Blue Jays recalled Eisert from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. Toronto is designating Eisert as its 27th man for a de facto doubleheader with Boston, after the two teams previously completed a game earlier Monday that had been suspended in the second inning back on June 26. He'll provide a fresh relief arm for the nightcap Monday and will presumably be returned to Triple-A once the contest concludes.

  • Blue Jays' Brandon Eisert: Headed back to minors

The Blue Jays optioned Eisert to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. Eisert made his major-league debut in Monday's loss to the Red Sox, walking three and allowing one hit but managing to turn in two scoreless innings. He's being sent out in favor of a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Blue Jays' Brandon Eisert: Contract selected

The Blue Jays selected Eisert's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. Eisert, 26, holds a 6.35 ERA with 14 walks over 22.2 innings at Buffalo in 2024, although he's also struck out 35 batters. The left-handed reliever will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.
