  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Sent to minors

The Tigers optioned Lee to Triple-A Toledo on Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. Following the Tigers' plethora of bullpen additions over the last few days, Lee is the odd man out after he's been getting hit hard in recent outings. Lee has registered a 4.10 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 36:9 K:BB across his first 37.1 major-league innings.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Struggles badly Saturday

Lee allowed four runs on four hits in just an inning of work in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Blue Jays. He struck out one. With the Tigers down 2-0 entering the top of the ninth inning, Lee let things get out of hand with one of his worst outings of the season. The rookie righty started his campaign by posting a 2.05 ERA across his first 25 games, but he now has a 15.88 ERA over his last six appearances, getting tagged for multiple runs three times during the stretch. Fatigue is potentially becoming a factor for Lee, and the team could decide to send him back to Triple-A Toledo at some point for a reset.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Continues to pitch well

Lee tossed two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Pirates. Lee allowed six runs across two appearances earlier this month, but he's bounced back with three straight scoreless outings. The rookie righty has been good overall with a 3.31 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 34 strikeouts in 35.1 innings this year. Lee generally sees low-leverage work, which limits his fantasy upside, though the 26-year-old is making a case for a larger role in future seasons based on his promising debut campaign.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Improves to 4-0

Lee (4-0) tossed 1.2 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win in Sunday's 7-2, extra-inning victory over Cleveland. He allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one. Lee retired the last two batters of the eighth inning and then worked the ninth, which set him up for the win when the Tigers erupted for six runs in the top of the 10th. The righty has been effective in his rookie season, posting a 2.05 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 28 strikeouts across 30.2 innings. Lee has also managed to give Detroit some length out of the bullpen, as he's retired four or more batters 11 times through his 25 appearances to date.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Improves to 2-0

Lee (2-0) tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win in Sunday's 1-0 victory over the Royals. He struck out one. After Detroit starter Keider Montero went 4.2 innings, Lee was asked to face four batters in the middle innings, and he retired all four on only 12 pitches. The rookie righty has been effective with a 1.15 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 15 strikeouts across 15.2 innings. Lee could see his role in the Tigers' bullpen continue to grow as the season progresses based on his promising early results.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Records first hold

Lee worked around two hits to toss two scoreless innings of relief and earn a hold in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Giants. He struck out one. After starter Jack Flaherty fired six scoreless innings, Lee followed with a scoreless seventh and eighth to earn his first MLB hold. The 26-year-old has been good for the Tigers in his debut campaign, posting a 1.26 ERA and 0.84 WHIP with 14 strikeouts across 14.1 innings so far. Lee has only been scored upon twice in 11 appearances.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Earns first MLB win

Lee (1-0) tossed two scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts to earn the win in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over the Cardinals. Lee followed Brant Hurter, who tossed three innings as the opener, and kept St. Louis off the board in the fourth and fifth. The effort earned Lee his first career win in his ninth appearance at the MLB level, all of which have come this season. The righty has pitched well when given an opportunity, as he's now sitting with a 0.82 ERA and 11 strikeouts across 11 innings of work.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Optioned in between doubleheader

The Tigers optioned Lee to Triple-A Toledo on Thursday. Lee has appeared in five games since being recalled from Triple-A Toledo on April 22. After allowing no earned runs across his first 4.1 innings in the majors, he gave up his first run in Detroit's 10-2 win in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against Colorado. The 26-year-old pitched two innings and allowed the run on one hit with two strikeouts. Having just been utilized in the matinee, the righty is being demoted so the Tigers can recall an extra bat in Brewer Hicklen for Game 2.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Effective in MLB debut

Lee tossed 1.2 scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday's 2-0 loss to the Padres. He allowed two walks and struck out one. Making his MLB debut, Lee was tossed right into the fire, as he recorded the last two outs of the eighth inning and then covered the ninth in a close game. The 26-year-old righty looks like nothing more than organizational depth at this point in his career, though he could stick around in Detroit's bullpen if he can build on the strong first impression.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Recalled from Triple-A

The Tigers recalled Lee from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports. Lee, 26, held a 6.75 ERA but a 12:3 K:BB over his first 9.1 frames with Toledo this season. The right-handed reliever will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Sent to Triple-A

The Tigers optioned Lee to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Lee will unsurprisingly begin the season at Toledo after being added to the Tigers' 40-man roster in November. The 26-year-old made 17 appearances with the affiliate last year and had a 3.27 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 31:4 K:BB across 22 innings.

  • Tigers' Chase Lee: Lands with Tigers

The Tigers acquired Lee and Joseph Montalvo from the Rangers on Tuesday in exchange for Andrew Chafin, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. Lee has missed much of 2024 due to injury but has looked like a potential late-inning relief arm when healthy. He holds a 4.19 ERA and 139:46 K:BB over 105.1 innings during his time at the Triple-A level.

  • Rangers' Chase Lee: Bidding for bullpen spot

Lee allowed one hit and struck out one over a scoreless seventh inning in Friday's spring game against the Royals. Lee is a side-arming righty, trying to hook on in a bullpen that has a couple of open spots. He spent time at Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock in 2022 and struck out 71 batters over 55.1 innings despite a fastball that lived in the upper-80s. "He reminds me a lot of a guy I had for years that had tremendous success - Sergio Romo," manager Bruce Bochy told Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. "He's probably got better stuff to be honest. He's intriguing with that delivery." Lee had a 5.46 ERA in Triple-A but was effective against the more advanced hitters following a harsh five-game introduction following his promotion from Frisco.
