Arias went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Tigers. Arias swatted a solo home run in the fourth inning and then singled in the final run as part of the team's four-run 10th inning. The homer was his career-high 11th to along with 50 RBI. Since returning from a wrist injury last week, Arias is 4-for-15 with a double, a homer, two RBI, one steal and two runs scored over four contests.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Double, run in return

Arias went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Friday's 4-0 win over the White Sox. Arias doubled and scored the Guardians' third run. He returned from a three-game absence due to inflammation in his right wrist and was back at shortstop. Arias may have his job back, but he hasn't provided lot of offense, slashing .164/.215/.230 with three RBI over the last 20 games.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Returns to Cleveland lineup

Arias (wrist) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Friday's game versus the White Sox. Arias was forced to miss the last three contests with right wrist inflammation, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in Friday's series opener. With Arias at shortstop, Brayan Rocchio will shift back to second base for the Guardians.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Not starting Thursday

Arias (wrist) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game versus Kansas City. Arias is expected to play through his wrist injury to help the Guardians push for a spot in the postseason, but not before he misses a third consecutive start Thursday. Brayan Rocchio will fill in at shortstop in Arias' absence, putting Daniel Schneemann at second base and opening a spot in the lineup for George Valera to serve as Cleveland's designated hitter.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Sitting again Wednesday

Arias (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals. Arias will miss a second straight start after departing Monday's 10-2 win due to right wrist inflammation. He is considered day-to-day. Brayan Rocchio will again shift over to shortstop, and Daniel Schneemann will handle second base for the Guardians.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Exits early Monday

Arias (undisclosed) exited Monday's contest against the Royals in the sixth inning, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Arias struck out to end the fourth inning, ultimately prompting manager Stephen Vogt to come check on him. The infielder remained in the game for the fifth inning, but he did end up leaving the contest prior to the sixth. It's unclear what Arias is dealing with, and more information on his status will likely come in the near future. Angel Martinez replaced Arias in the field for the time being, batting seventh versus Kansas City.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Homers in return

Arias started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Red Sox. Arias, who missed four consecutive games with a hand injury, clubbed a home run in his first plate appearance, which kicked off Cleveland's six-run second inning. The homer was the 10th of the season for Arias, who needs one more to establish a new career high in that category. He is expected to remain the primary shortstop for now, but a .202/.250/.374 slash line in the second half may leave his hold on the job shaky.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Rejoining starting nine

Arias (hand) will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox. Arias will check back into the starting nine after a right hand contusion relegated him to the bench for each of the previous four contests. With Arias back in the fold, Brayan Rocchio will shift over to the keystone and Angel Martinez will move to center field after starting at second base in Tuesday's 11-7 loss.

Arias (wrist) isn't starting against Seattle on Saturday. Arias was hit on the right wrist by a pitch during Friday's contest and had to leave the game. • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Exits after HBP

Arias was removed from Friday's game against Seattle after getting hit on his right wrist by a pitch, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Arias had to leave the game immediately after taking a 95-mph sinker off his wrist in the second inning. The severity of his injury should be revealed after the Guardians' training staff gets a chance to evaluate him. Angel Martinez entered the game as Arias' replacement and would likely be the favorite to pick up a few starts if the latter needs to miss time.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Homers, plates season-high four

Arias went 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Mets. The homer was Arias' eighth of the season, and his four RBI set a season high as well. The 25-year-old infielder has been impressive at the plate in a limited sample size since coming off the injured list, which could help him eventually work his way up the batting order. Arias is hitting .290 with two big flies, two doubles, seven RBI and one stolen base over his last 31 at-bats (eight games).

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Starts at shortstop Saturday

Arias started at shortstop in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader against the Royals and went a combined 1-for-6 with a double. Arias was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday and reclaimed the position he held prior to his ankle injury. He and Brayan Rocchio made up the middle infield combo for both games Saturday and could split playing time at the two positions along with Daniel Schneemann.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Could return this weekend

Arias (ankle) could be activated off the 10-day injured list ahead of this weekend's series against the Royals, MLB.com reports. Arias has played four games so far on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Columbus, including two consecutive nine-inning contests at shortstop Tuesday and Wednesday. The back-to-back work in the field suggests his activation is imminent. Prior to the injury, Arias operated as the Guardians' primary shortstop, having replaced a struggling Brayan Rocchio, but it's unclear if he'll return in the same role. Rocchio, who was called up when Arias landed on the IL in early July, has hit .254 (15-for-59) with a .709 OPS, eight extra-base hits and 11 RBI over 20 games. Those results are much better than what he posted over the first 35 games of the season, and which got him demoted in early May.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Takes at-bats Thursday

Arias (ankle) took at-bats during a live batting practice session Thursday, MLB.com reports. Arias was part of a BP session that featured injured starter Shane Bieber (elbow). It's an encouraging sign that Arias has returned to baseball activities after being carted off the field June 29, but as yet a return timeline for the infielder isn't clear.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: MRI on tap

Arias (ankle) will undergo an MRI on Monday, MLB.com reports. Arias was removed from Sunday's 7-0 loss to the Cardinals in the third inning after attempting to make a sliding stop on a groundball in the hole. He was carted off the field with a splint on his left leg and was later diagnosed with a sprained ankle. The MRI should provide clarity on the extent of the injury, but if Arias is forced to miss time, Daniel Schneemann could step in as the Guardians' primary option at shortstop.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Suffers ankle sprain Sunday

Arias was diagnosed with a left ankle sprain after exiting in the third inning of Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. He went 0-for-1 at the plate prior to exiting the contest. Arias appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario after he needed to be carted off the field when he sustained a painful-looking ankle injury while attempting to track down a groundball. X-rays on the ankle returned negative, but his sprain could still be significant enough to force him to the injured list.

  • Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Carted off field Sunday

Arias was removed from the field on a cart during the third inning of Sunday's game against the Cardinals due to an apparent left ankle injury, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Arias was in pursuit of a Masyn Winn grounder when his cleat got stuck in the dirt, causing his lower leg to contort. The Guardians will send Arias for further testing before providing a diagnosis, but the infielder could be headed for a lengthy absence. Daniel Schneemann came off the bench to replace Arias at shortstop.
