Rays' Jake Mangum: Giving way to Pereira vs. lefty
Mangum is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Mangum is a switch hitter, but he's been far more effective against right-handed pitching (.769 OPS in 228 plate appearances) than lefties (.451 OPS in 100 plate appearances) this season. He'll cede the start in center field to Everson Pereira in Sunday's series finale while the Cardinals send lefty Matthew Liberatore to the hill.

Rays' Jake Mangum: Fills box score in win
Mangum went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 10-6 win over the Cardinals.
The four-hit game was Mangum's third of the season, and it was just his second contest of the year with multiple extra-base hits. The speedy switch hitter is a strong source of steals -- he has 20 stolen bases over 311 at-bats -- but he's provided very little in the way of power in 2025. Mangum is hitting .283 with two home runs, 14 doubles, 34 RBI and 32 runs scored across 90 outings.

Mangum went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-6 win over the Giants.
Mangum has been mediocre so far in August, going 8-for-36 (.222) with three steals and three RBI over his last 12 games. The outfielder continues to see steady playing time versus right-handed pitchers, though the switch hitter isn't being strictly platooned while working all over the outfield. He's now at a .278/.316/.347 slash line with two home runs, 31 RBI, 29 runs scored and 18 steals through 84 contests on the season.

Positively, Mangum has four stolen bases in that span, but his fantasy appeal is limited.

Mangum went 1-for-4 with an inside-the-park solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Athletics.
Mangum cut the Rays' 2-0 deficit in half in dramatic fashion in the second inning, when he crushed a flyball to center field that just missed the reach of Denzel Clarke's glove and allowed the former to come around to score. It was the 24th inside-the-park homer in franchise history and extended Mangum's hitting streak to seven games. Over that span, he has gone 9-for-27 (.333) with one steal, four runs scored and three RBI in addition to the homer.
