  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Exceeds 103 mph on radar gun

Henriquez tied a Dodgers franchise record for the pitch-tracking era by throwing a 103.3 mph fastball against the Padres on Saturday. He tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in the victory, allowing one hit and issuing one walk while striking out two batters. The right-hander has always been known as a flamethrower, but he reached a new level against San Diego. The impressive velocity is not an isolated incident though, as Henriquez is averaging 101.3 mph on his fastball in the majors this year. Somewhat surprisingly, that's led to a modest four punchouts over six innings, but he's been very effective in that small sample, as he's yet to give up a run while surrendering just three hits and one walk. Los Angeles will probably need to see more to move Henriquez into a high-leverage role however, as he's posted a far less impressive 6.85 ERA and 1.90 WHIP over 23.2 frames with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Recalled from Triple-A

The Dodgers recalled Henriquez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Henriquez tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Angels, marking his fourth scoreless relief outing with the big club this season. The hard-throwing righty will occupy a middle-relief role with the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Called up Monday

Henriquez was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday. Henriquez will join the major-league roster for the first time this season after posting a 5.89 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with 26 strikeouts over 18.1 innings in 18 appearances, including two starts, with Oklahoma City this season. The right-hander allowed one run on two hits and two walks, while striking out five batters over 3.1 innings with Los Angeles in 2024. Lou Trivino was designated for assignment Monday, opening a spot for Henriquez in the Dodgers' bullpen.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Ramping up in rehab stint

Henriquez (foot) pitched on back-to-back days Wednesday and Thursday for the first time during his current minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City, per MLB.com. Henriquez was excellent in the back-to-back appearances, striking out three batters and allowing just one hit over two scoreless innings. The right-hander tacked on another scoreless frame Saturday, and he's allowed just one run over his past five outings spanning six innings with OKC. Henriquez appears just about ready to be activated from the 60-day IL, which could lead to him contributing to the big-league bullpen in the near future.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Begins rehab assignment

Henriquez (foot) kicked off a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, independent writer Howard Cole reports. Henriquez looked a bit rusty Thursday in his first rehab outing, allowing one run on one hit and two walks while striking out one batter over two-thirds of an inning. The right-handed reliever remains on the 60-day IL after suffering a left foot injury early this spring. Henriquez got his first taste of major-league action last year, posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 5:2 K:BB over 3.1 innings during the regular season before allowing four runs over five frames across three playoff appearances.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Back to throwing in bullpen

Henriquez (foot) recently resumed throwing bullpen sessions and is close to facing live hitters, MLB.com reports. Henriquez has been on the injured list all season due to a left foot fracture he suffered this spring. The right-handed reliever has been throwing at the Dodgers' complex in Arizona and could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list at some point in June.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Out for Opening Day

Manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Henriquez won't be ready for the start of the season due to a metatarsal injury in his left foot, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Henriquez was seen in the Dodgers' clubhouse Tuesday with a walking boot on. Roberts didn't offer any additional information regarding the severity of Henriquez's injury, though it's apparently serious enough to warrant ruling him out for Opening Day already. The 22-year-old right-hander allowed one earned run in 3.1 regular-season innings with the Dodgers last year, and he had been a candidate to begin 2025 in Los Angeles' bullpen amid all the injuries to the team's pitching staff.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Picks up first big-league save

Henriquez walked one and struck out two over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Rockies. Henriquez was able to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning, earning his first big-league save in just his third appearance in the majors. He has allowed one run and two hits with a 5:2 K:BB over 3.1 innings since his call-up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. The flame-throwing prospect raced through five levels in 2024, and it's not clear yet if the Dodgers plan to keep him in the bullpen for their postseason run.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Promoted from Triple-A

The Dodgers called up Henriquez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Henriquez started the season in Single-A ball and has now reached his fifth level within the organization in 2024, propelled by a fastball that's touched as high as 104 mph. The 22-year-old posted a 4.26 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in 12.2 innings across 14 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting an 18:10 K:BB in the process. Henriquez was not on the 40-man roster ahead of the three game set against the Padres, so a corresponding move is imminent.

  • Dodgers' Edgardo Henriquez: Headed to Triple-A

The Dodgers will promote Henriquez from Double-A Tulsa to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Henriquez will make the leap to Triple-A after compiling a 3.06 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 24 strikeouts over 17.2 innings in 16 appearances out of the bullpen with Tulsa. The right-hander is now just one step away from making his major-league debut.
