  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Getting rest Saturday

Manzardo is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus Atlanta. Manzardo has been red-hot while starting each of Cleveland's past seven contests, batting .318 with three home runs and five RBI over that stretch. However, he's beginning Saturday's game on the bench with Atlanta sending lefty Joey Wentz to the mound. With Manzardo not starting, the Guardians have opted to give David Fry a chance to DH.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Remains productive

Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Marlins. Manzardo maintained his second half groove by belting the second of back-to-back home runs in the first inning. It was his 21st of the season, third in the last two games and sixth in 19 contests since the All-Star break.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Clubs pair of homers

Manzardo went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the White Sox. The Cleveland slugger posted his third career multi-homer game and second of the season in the series finale at Chicago. Manzardo cracked a 408-foot solo shot off White Sox starter Davis Martin in the fourth before returning in the seventh to slug another solo homer off reliever Jordan Leasure. The 25-year-old has been hot since the All-Star break, batting .368 (21-for-57) with five long balls, 15 RBI and seven runs across 18 contests. Through 368 total plate appearances, Manzardo is slashing .244/.323/.485 with 20 homers, 52 RBI and 34 runs scored.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Maintains productive second half

Manzardo went 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI in Saturday's 3-1 win over the White Sox. Manzardo wouldn't let Steven Kwan's leadoff double in the first inning go to waste, as he gave the Guardians an early lead with a two-out, RBI single. He's hit safely in 13 of 17 games (16 starts) in the second half, slashing .358/.453/.585 with three home runs and 13 RBI during that stretch. The lefty batter, who remains limited to mainly facing right-handed pitching, has been more effective of late than he was in the first half of the season, when Manzardo logged a .217/.293/.442 slash line.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting against lefty

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets. Manzardo and fellow left-handed hitters Daniel Schneemann, Bo Naylor and Nolan Jones will head to the bench for the second time in the series while the Mets send southpaw David Peterson to the hill for the finale. David Fry will replace Manzardo as the Guardians' designated hitter and will bat cleanup.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Drives in game-winning run

Manzardo went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Friday's 3-2 extra inning win over Minnesota. Manzardo sent the fans home happy after his single to left field brought Brayan Rocchio home. Manzardo has been red hot at the plate since the All-Star break and is in the midst of a 10-game hitting streak, going 15-for-33 (.455) with three home runs and 11 RBI over that span.

Manzardo posted the second multi-homer game of his career with a two-run blast in the third followed by a solo shot in the sixth. He's now hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, slashing .357/.429/.762 with five homers and 13 RBI over that span and is now up to 18 home runs and 46 RBI for the season.

Manzardo went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in a 5-3 extra-inning loss to the Royals in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. Manzardo gave Cleveland a lead in the top of the 10th inning before the Guardians were stung by Jonathan India's three-run home run in the bottom of the frame. The RBI was the 10th in the last eight games for Manzardo, who has gone 9-for-27 with three home runs and two doubles during that stretch.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Homers in win

Manzardo went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and a walk in Monday's 10-5 win over the Orioles. Manzardo gave the Guardians a 6-5 lead they wouldn't relinquish with a solo homer in the sixth inning before being pinch hit for in the seventh to avoid a lefty-on-lefty matchup. The 25-year-old appears to be heating up, having homered three times while collecting hits in four of his past five games. For the year, he's slashing .219/.295/.453 with 16 long balls, 38 RBI, 28 runs scored and one steal across 308 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Rejoins active roster

The Guardians reinstated Manzardo from the family medical emergency list Thursday. Manzardo will rejoin the team after missing the minimum of three games while tending to a personal matter. He should slide right back into his usual spot as Cleveland's DH versus right-handers, whom he is slashing .220/.292/.402 against this season. Jhonkensy Noel was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Resting Saturday

Manzardo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers. After going 0-for-5 in Friday's series opener, Manzardo will take a day off to regroup while Jose Ramirez works as Cleveland's DH. Daniel Schneemann will move to third base as a result, and Angel Martinez will start at second.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting in third straight vs. LHP

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs. The Guardians are facing a lefty (Shota Imanaga) for the third game in a row, and the left-handed-hitting Manzardo has been excluded from the lineup for all of those contests. David Fry will get another start at designated hitter Wednesday at Manzardo's expense.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Pokes homer in win

Manzardo went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to Toronto. Manzardo entered as a pinch hitter for David Fry in the seventh and finished the game at designated hitter. He eventually launched his 12th home run of the season -- and first in 13 games -- in the ninth inning. Manzardo had a nice start to the season as the team's primary DH -- he homered eight times and had a .557 slugging percentage through the first 26 contests -- but he has since lost playing time to Fry as his power stroke has waned. Since April 30, Manzardo has just four home runs and is slugging .378 over 41 games.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Falling into platoon at DH

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds. The left-handed-hitting Manzardo has produced a .947 OPS in 40 plate appearances versus lefties this season, but he'll likely find himself on the bench more frequently against southpaws while the Guardians have plenty of right-handed bats available off the bench. David Fry will replace Manzardo at designated hitter in Wednesday's series finale while the Reds send southpaw Nick Lodolo to the bump.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Taking seat against lefty

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. With southpaw Brandon Walter on the hill for the Astros, Manzardo will hit the bench for the series finale. Though he's produced a .206/.300/.647 slash line (155 wRC+) over 40 plate appearances versus lefties this season, Manzardo could have to settle for a strong-side platoon role at designated hitter with David Fry now off the IL.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Idle against LHP

Manzardo isn't part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers. Manzardo's streak of eight consecutive starts comes to an end Wednesday as the Guardians face off against southpaw Clayton Kershaw. Jose Ramirez will DH while Carlos Santana plays first base.

Manzardo will start at first base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Tigers. The left-handed-hitting Manzardo was initially scheduled to receive the day off, but he'll end up having to face southpaw Tarik Skubal after the Guardians made Carlos Santana (leg) a late scratch. Manzando has a surprising 1.139 OPS against southpaws this season, albeit in only 34 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Not starting nightcap

Manzardo isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals. Manzardo will sit out the final game of Tuesday's activities after going 0-for-4 with an RBI and scoring a run during the early game. His absence will move Jose Ramirez to the DH spot, while Will Wilson starts at third base and bats seventh.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: On base four times

Manzardo went 2-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays. Manzardo shook off a 1-for-14 stretch with his fifth multi-hit game of the season. The steal was his first as a big-leaguer and just his fifth since becoming a professional in 2021.
