  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Roughed up by Rangers

Allen (7-10) took the loss against Texas on Saturday, allowing nine runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two across five innings. Allen got through the first inning unscathed, but that was about the only positive thing to come out of Saturday's outing for the 26-year-old southpaw. The nine runs he yielded were the most of his major-league career, and the three homers he gave up were his most since June 25, 2024 against the Orioles. Saturday's game inflated Allen's numbers to a 4.35 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 128.1 innings this season. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, tentatively slated for next weekend at home against the Mariners.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Fans six in no-decision

Allen did not factor in the decision during Sunday's loss to Atlanta. He allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings while striking out six. Allen gave up one run through four innings before things fell apart in the fifth. He was charged with two unearned runs and failed to complete the frame after a pair of errors. He threw 107 pitches (65 strikes) in the ineffective outing and generated only 10 whiffs. Allen has struggled with his command recently, issuing 11 walks over his last 14.2 innings. On the bright side, he's given up two or fewer earned runs in six of his last eight outings while lowering his season ERA to 3.87 with a 98:51 K:BB through 123.1 innings. Allen is lined up for a road start against the Rangers next weekend.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Settles for no-decision Tuesday

Allen didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Marlins, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out five. The southpaw wasn't sharp, throwing just 53 of 93 pitches for strikes, but Allen kept the Miami offense at bay until the fifth inning, when a two-out walk to Otto Lopez set the stage for a three-run rally that tied the game. After an 11-start stretch in which Allen didn't issue more than two free passes in an outing, he's now walked eight batters in 10 innings over his last two trips to the mound. He'll take a 3.94 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 92:48 K:BB over 118.2 frames into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against Atlanta.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Strikes out six in no-decision

Allen came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Mets, giving up two runs on four hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out six. The lefty's control was a little wobbly, as he threw just 51 of 88 pitches for strikes and managed first-pitch strikes to only 12 of the 23 batters he faced, but despite dealing with traffic on the bases in all five of his innings, Allen was able to limit the damage. He's been a steady presence in the Guardians' rotation, lasting at least five innings in 11 straight starts since the beginning of June while posting a 3.90 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 49:19 K:BB over 64.2 innings. Allen will look for his eighth win of the season in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Marlins.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Allows four runs in defeat

Allen (6-9) took the loss after throwing 6.1 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out four, during Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles. Allen's streak of seven straight starts without allowing more than three earned runs is over after allowing four runs Thursday. The left-hander has gotten some tough results lately, sporting a 1-5 record in his last six starts despite a decent 4.08 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 35.1 innings. The 26-year-old is slated to take the mound next against the Rockies at home.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Done in by rough fourth frame

Allen (6-8) took the loss against the Athletics on Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 5.1 innings. Allen was sharp through three innings, retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced. Things took a major turn for the worse for him in the fourth, however, as the A's led off the frame with three straight doubles and four consecutive hits overall to score three times. Allen got into trouble again in the fifth and the sixth, though no additional runs were charged to his ledger. The lefty saw a stretch of three straight quality starts come to an end, but he did manage to yield three or fewer runs for the seventh consecutive outing. Allen will carry a 4.06 ERA into his next start, which lines up to come at home versus Baltimore.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Start pushed back

Thursday's game between the Guardians and White Sox was postponed due to rain, pushing back Allen's start, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. The teams are set for a doubleheader Friday, with Allen scheduled to take the ball in Game 1 at 3:10 p.m. ET, per Tim Stebbins of MLB.com. Allen has been inconsistent this season, though he's allowed three or fewer earned runs and completed at least five innings in five consecutive outings.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Dealt tough loss

Allen (5-7) took the loss Saturday against the Tigers after giving up one run on two hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out five. The left-hander delivered one of his better starts of the season, but he was still charged with the loss as Spencer Torkelson's second-inning solo homer was the only run of the contest. Allen has covered five-plus frames in each of his past six outings, and he has a 3.85 ERA and 27:11 K:BB over 35 innings during that stretch. He lines up to finish the first half with a favorable matchup versus the White Sox next week.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Stumbles against Jays

Allen (5-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Guardians were downed 10-6 by the Blue Jays, giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out four. The southpaw nearly eked out a quality start, but Allen got lifted after 104 pitches (70 strikes) with runners on the corners and two outs in the sixth inning, and Bo Bichette coming to the plate. It's only the second time this season Allen has been allowed to cross the 100-pitch threshold, and he continues to have difficulty putting together a long stretch of effectiveness. Over his last six appearances (five starts) he's gone 3-3 with a 4.88 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB in 27.2 innings. He'll look for a better result in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Cardinals.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Lasts 3.2 frames in loss

Allen (2-3) took the loss Sunday in Detroit after giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out two. The left-hander kept the Tigers off the board through three innings but fell apart in the fourth, as Detroit scored five runs on five hits, a hit-by-pitch and an error. Allen has now failed to cover five frames in three of his past four starts, though it's worth noting that one of those outings was cut short due to inclement weather. The 26-year-old has a 4.31 ERA through 10 starts this year, and his 1.63 WHIP and 36:25 K:BB aren't encouraging.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Start suspended due to weather

Allen tossed three innings against Minnesota on Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters before the game was suspended due to inclement weather. Allen gave up a run in each of the first and second innings before tossing a clean, four-pitch third frame. That was as far as he would go, as the contest ended up being suspended until Tuesday due to rain. Allen isn't going to pitch when the game resumes, but he could still take the loss given that the Guardians were behind when the contest was halted. The left-hander threw 53 pitches Monday, so his arm should be relatively fresh when he next takes the mound, which is scheduled to be this weekend in Detroit.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Fires six shutout innings

Allen (2-2) yielded three hits and a walk over six scoreless frames Tuesday, striking out six and earning a win over the Brewers. Allen was terrific Tuesday, allowing only one extra-base hit and at one point retiring 13 consecutive batters. It marked his first time completing six innings this season and he earned his first win since April 15. He tossed 57 of 89 pitches for strikes and generated a season-high 11 whiffs. Allen lowered his ERA to 3.70 to go alongside a 31:20 K:BB through 41.1 innings this season. His next start is projected to be in Minnesota.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: No-decision against Toronto

Allen didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings. It was a nice bounce-back effort for Allen on Friday after he gave up seven runs to the Red Sox on April 27. He tallied 16 first-pitch strikes and nine whiffs across 104 pitches (66 strikes), and he was one out shy from logging his first quality start of the season. He's yielded two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five outings and has a 4.02 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB across 31.1 innings. Allen's next start is slated for next week on the road against the Nationals.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Crushed in loss

Allen (1-2) took the loss against the Red Sox on Sunday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 4.1 innings. Allen had allowed only five earned runs across his first four starts of the year but couldn't escape a four-run fifth inning Sunday. The southpaw struggled to put hitters away, throwing just 57 of 96 pitches for strikes with 10 whiffs. He'll take a 4.21 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 18:13 K:BB across 25.2 innings into a road matchup with the Blue Jays next weekend.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Silences O's in win

Allen (1-1) tossed 5.2 scoreless innings in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out six. Allen mowed down the Orioles, allowing just two base knocks to Cedric Mullins and Gunnar Henderson. After showing poor command in his 2025 debut, Allen has looked like a completely different pitcher. He's given up one run in his last 10.1 innings while averaging just under a strikeout per inning. Allen owns a 2.30 ERA and 1.40 WHIP and lines up for a favorable matchup versus the Pirates this weekend.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Lowers spring ERA to 1.89

Allen allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings in Wednesday's split-squad start against the Angels. This was Allen's fifth Cactus League appearance and third start. Following a regression season in 2024, Allen has pitched well this spring, elevating his chances among several candidates for one of the open rotation spots. He lowered his Cactus League ERA to 1.89, the best of all starters not named Tanner Bibee. His 19 strikeouts to four walks over 19 innings also points to him opening the regular season in the Guardians' rotation.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Fans four in second spring start

Allen allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four over 2.2 innings in Thursday's spring start against the White Sox. Allen made his second Cactus League start and worked up to 44 pitches (26 strikes). Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt was pleased with the outing but noted the pitcher's "command issues" following the game, per Steve Stockmar of MLB.com. Higher-than optimal walk rates were an issue for Allen last season, and he also saw a spike in home runs allowed. After teasing the Guardians in his rookie 2023 season (3.81 ERA), Allen fell off to a 5.73 ERA and allowed a combined 34 home runs in 146 innings between Cleveland and Triple-A Columbus. The left-hander is one of several pitchers competing for a spot in the big-league rotation.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Recalled ahead of start

The Guardians recalled Allen from Triple-A Columbus on Monday. Allen will start the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Royals. The lefty could be in line for just a spot start, as Alex Cobb (fingernail) looks to have a good shot and returning from the 15-day injured list the next time the Guardians require a fifth starter. Allen holds a 5.56 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 78:37 K:BB across 92.1 innings with the big club this season.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Sent back to minors

The Guardians optioned Allen to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports. Allen was solid in a spot start Monday against the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs over five innings. With Allen heading back to the minors, it would seem the Guardians feel good about Tanner Bibee's (shoulder) chances of being ready to make a start later this week.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Allows two runs in no-decision

Allen did not factor into the decision in Monday's 7-6 loss versus the Diamondbacks. He allowed two runs on five hits and two walks across five innings. Allen was recalled to make his first start since July 6 after struggling to a 5.67 ERA in his first 18 starts, barely making it out of the first inning Monday. He gave up back-to-back home runs to the first two hitters he faced and then loaded the bases before barely escaping the opening frame. Allen went on to get through the next four innings unscathed. It's unclear if Allen will get another turn in the rotation, as Alex Cobb (hip) will return this weekend and Triston McKenzie may also get another look after having his best start in the minors his last time out.
