  • Astros' Jesus Sanchez: Idle against left-hander

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles. Sanchez and fellow left-handed-hitting outfielder Jacob Melton will head to the bench for the second time in the series while the Orioles send another lefty (Trevor Rogers) to the bump for the finale. Mauricio Dubon will replace Sanchez in left field and will bat seventh.

  • Astros' Jesus Sanchez: Breaks lengthy slump with five hits

Sanchez went 5-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Orioles. Sanchez had gone 0-for-27 with nine strikeouts over his previous 10 games. He broke out of the slump in a big way Thursday, though four of his hits were singles. Sanchez is still batting just .215 over 19 games with the Astros, though he has settled into a near-everyday role in the corner outfield, in turn keeping Jose Altuve at second base or designated hitter. Overall, Sanchez is slashing .249/.310/.400 with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 47 runs scored and nine stolen bases across 105 games between Houston and Miami this season.

  • Astros' Jesus Sanchez: Hits third in Houston debut

Sanchez went 2-for-4 on Friday against the Red Sox. Sanchez made his debut with the Astros after being dealt to the team Thursday. He hit third in the order behind Jeremy Pena (hamstring) and Jose Altuve and collected a hit in his first plate appearance with his new club.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Provides only runs in victory

Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in a 2-0 win over St. Louis on Wednesday. Sanchez mashed a 439-foot, two-run shot off Miles Mikolas in the third inning. That proved to be the difference maker, as neither team managed to score at any point during the rest of the game. Sanchez entered the All-Star break in a 23-game homerless drought, but he's now gone deep three times through his first 11 contests of the second half. He's up to 10 home runs on the year after swatting a career-high 18 across 149 regular-season contests last year.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Idle against lefty

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds. The left-handed-hitting Sanchez will head to the bench for the first time since June 29 while the Marlins load up on right-handed bats to counter Reds southpaw Andrew Abbott. Dane Myers will replace Sanchez in right field.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Idle for series finale

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks. After starting each of the last nine games, the left-handed-hitting Sanchez will receive a breather while the Diamondbacks send southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez to the bump. Dane Myers will slide over from center field to replace Sanchez in right field in the series finale.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Idle against lefty again

Sanchez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies. The left-handed-hitting Sanchez will be on the bench for the second straight game while the Phillies send another southpaw (Ranger Suarez) to the hill. Heriberto Hernandez will get the starting nod in right field in place of Sanchez, who could end up sitting again in the series finale Thursday, when lefty Cristopher Sanchez is scheduled to toe the rubber for Philadelphia.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Swats sixth homer

Sanchez went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Nationals. Getting the start in right field and batting leadoff, Sanchez took Brad Lord deep in the seventh inning for his sixth homer of the season. Sanchez has been very productive to kick off the month of June, driving in at least one run in eight of 11 games with 12 total RBI to go along with four doubles, two home runs, six runs scored and a .286 batting average (12-for-42).

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Grabbing seat versus lefty

Sanchez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Pittsburgh. The left-handed-swinging Sanchez will get a breather against Pirates southpaw Bailey Falter. Heriberto Hernandez will start in right field and bat third for the Marlins.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Sitting Friday

Sanchez is not in Friday's lineup against the Giants. Sanchez had started the last two games the Marlins played against lefty starters, but he'll head to the bench in this one against southpaw Kyle Harrison. With Dane Myers activated and Heriberto Hernandez promoted, the Marlins have more options against southpaws, but Sanchez should still be loosely considered an everyday player.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Three more hits in loss

Sanchez went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Tuesday's 8-6 loss to the Padres. Sanchez has posted back-to-back multi-hit games and is 10-for-31 (.323) over his last eight contests. He has four extra-base hits and six RBI in that span. The outfielder is up to a .246/.347/.357 slash line with three home runs, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and five stolen bases across 35 games this season. He continues to hold down a starting role in right field while the Marlins deal with some injuries in the outfield.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Crosses plate three times Friday

Sanchez went 1-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored in Friday's win over the Rays. Getting the start in right field and batting leadoff, Sanchez crossed the plate in the first, fourth and sixth innings in a comfortable 9-4 victory. It was the 27-year-old outfielder's first time this season at the very top of the order, as Xavier Edwards (back) got the night off Friday, but Sanchez has mainly been batting second against right-handed pitching and has produced a .364 OBP over his last 10 games. Those on-base skills have come with a surprising lack of power, however -- Sanchez doesn't have an extra-base hit in May, and after slugging a career-high 18 homers in 2024, he has only one long ball through 25 games in 2025.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Returns to Marlins lineup

Sanchez (back) will start in right field and bat cleanup in Monday's game versus the Dodgers. Sanchez hasn't played April 30 due to back tightness but is feeling well enough to give it a go in Monday's series opener. He's managed just a .599 OPS in 15 games since returning from an oblique strain.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Tending to back tightness

Sanchez was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's 9-6 win over the Athletics due to back tightness and remains out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale, MLB.com reports. Sanchez hasn't played since Wednesday due to the issue, but the Marlins haven't suggested that the 27-year-old is at risk of landing on the injured list. With Sanchez on the bench Sunday for a third game in a row, the Marlins will roll out an outfield of Ronny Simon, Dane Myers and Kyle Stowers from left to right.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Scratched from lineup Saturday

Sanchez has been removed from Saturday's lineup against the Athletics. Sanchez was originally slated to start in right field and bat fifth, but Miami later updated its lineup with Sanchez no longer listed. Instead, Kyle Stowers has moved from left field to right field, while Ronny Simon is now starting in left. This will be the second straight day out of the lineup for Sanchez, though to this point there's been no indication that he's dealing with any sort of injury.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Belts first homer of year

Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's win over the Mariners. The Marlins' offense was completely shut down by Logan Gilbert (forearm) to begin the game, but once he left the mound after the third inning, the floodgates quickly opened. Sanchez's homer, his first of the year, came as part of a six-run fifth frame against Casey Lawrence. Sanchez is still struggling to find a rhythm at the plate after his delayed start to the season, and through nine games he's batting just .226 and only two extra-base over 31 at-bats.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Lands on 10-day IL

The Marlins placed Sanchez on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to a left oblique strain. Sanchez suffered the injury in mid-March. Per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, Sanchez recently began a hitting progression, but it's not clear if he'll be ready to come off the IL when first eligible April 4. With Sanchez on the shelf, the Marlins will deploy Kyle Stowers and Griffin Conine as their starting corner outfielders in Thursday's season opener versus the Pirates.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Headed for injured list

Manager Clayton McCullough said Saturday that Sanchez (side) will begin the season on the injured list, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports. Sanchez was pulled from Thursday's Grapefruit League game due to an issue with his left side in what was initially labeled as a precautionary move. However, the outfielder's injury will ultimately cause him to miss the start of the regular season, and it's currently unclear if he'll be ready to return once eligible April 6. With Sanchez out, Griffin Conine will likely be the next man up to serve as the Marlins' Opening Day right fielder.

  • Marlins' Jesus Sanchez: Clubs first spring homer

Sanchez went 1-for-2 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Monday's split-squad game against the Nationals. The outfielder turned on a Mitchell Parker pitch in the fourth inning for his first long ball of the spring. Sanchez dealt with a sore elbow earlier in camp and has struggled to find his timing at the plate, going 3-for-22 (.136) in nine Grapefruit League appearances with a 2:7 BB:K. He's healthy now however, and he could even open the season as the starting center fielder given the Marlins' lack of appealing options at the position.
