  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Idle against right-hander

Mullins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies. The Mets are going up against a right-hander (Taijuan Walker) for the series finale, but the left-handed-hitting Mullins will nonetheless remain on the bench after he was held out of the lineup against lefty starters Monday and Tuesday. Jeff McNeil will get the nod in center field in place of Mullins.

  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Taking seat against lefty

Mullins is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies. The left-handed-hitting Mullins has been playing fairly regularly against southpaws since the Mets acquired him from the Orioles on July 31, but he'll take a seat Monday while the Phillies send lefty Cristopher Sanchez to the hill. With Mullins on the bench, New York will roll out a starting outfield of Brandon Nimmo, Tyrone Taylor and Juan Soto from left to right.

  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Swipes two bags in loss

Mullins went 1-for-2 with a walk, one run scored and two stolen bases in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Atlanta. He was also hit by a pitch. Mullins was a steady presence Sunday, reaching base three times and recording multiple steals for the first time in a Mets uniform. The 30-year-old has now hit safely in six of his last seven games, posting three extra-base hits, two RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases in that span. Since joining New York on Aug. 1, he's slashing .242/.338/.379 with one homer, six RBI, 10 runs scored and five steals across 77 plate appearances.

  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Resting Saturday

Mullins is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta. Despite Atlanta sending right-hander Cal Quantrill to the hill, Mullins will get the night off Saturday, yielding his spot in center field to Tyrone Taylor. Mullins had started 14 consecutive games, going 14-for-51 (.275) with four doubles, a triple and a home run during that stretch.

  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Homer short of cycle Friday

Mullins went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta. It took him a few games to get adjusted to his new team after being traded by the Orioles at the deadline, but Mullins is finding his groove with the Mets. The center fielder has hit safely in five straight games, and over his last 12 contests he's slashing .304/.353/.500 with six extra-base hits (four double, a triple and a homer), one steal, six runs and six RBI.

  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Nabs 17th steal

Mullins went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Nationals. The veteran center fielder collected his third steal in 15 games as a member of the Mets, and his 17th of the season overall. Mullins is still adjusting to his new environment after being acquired from the Orioles at the trade deadline, slashing .173/.254/.288 for New York over 59 plate appearances with a 28.8 percent strikeout rate.

  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Sitting versus southpaw

Mullins is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Guardians. The left-handed-hitting Mullins started against a southpaw Sunday, but he'll take a seat Tuesday as the Guardians send lefty Logan Allen to the bump. Tyrone Taylor will hold down center field and bat ninth for the Mets.

  • Mets' Cedric Mullins: Traded to Mets

The Orioles traded Mullins to the Mets on Thursday in exchange for Raimon Gomez, Anthony Nunez and Chandler Marsh, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Mullins owns a .738 OPS on the season but has been on fire since the start of July, slashing .290/.346/.522 with three homers, 10 RBI, nine runs scored and six stolen bases over his last 23 games. The 30-year-old will presumably take over as the Mets' primary center fielder, which likely spells more starts at the keystone for Jeff McNeil.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Powers up in win

Mullins went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a double and a walk in Monday's 11-4 win over the Blue Jays. Mullins got the scoring started with a two-run blast in the second inning and also robbed a home run on defense in the fourth. As the trade deadline looms, the 31-year-old has hit safely in four of his past five games with four extra-base hits, five RBI and three runs scored. On the season, he's slashing .221/.301/.420 with 15 homers, 47 RBI, 41 runs scored and 14 steals across 346 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Hits 100th career homer in rout

Mullins went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 18-0 win over the Rockies. Mullins launched a three-run homer in the fourth inning and added a single in the sixth. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, he became just the third player in franchise history to reach both 100 career home runs and steals. For the year, the 30-year-old is slashing .219/.297/.409 with 14 long balls, 45 RBI, 39 runs scored and 14 stolen bases across 338 plate appearances. He could be on the move at next week's trade deadline as a potential fit for a contender in need of outfield help.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Exiting lineup Thursday

Mullins is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians. Mullins will join fellow left-handed hitters Colton Cowser and Ryan O'Hearn on the bench as the Guardians send southpaw Logan Allen to the bump for the series finale. With Mullins out of the lineup, Dylan Carlson will pick up the start in center field.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Out against left-hander

Mullins is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Mets. The left-handed-hitting Mullins will get a day off with southpaw David Peterson toeing the rubber for the Mets. Colton Cowser will handle center-field duties for the Orioles.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Belts 12th long ball in defeat

Mullins went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 12-8 defeat to the Rays. Mullins socked his 12th homer of the season, and he continues to hit more for power than usual since returning from the injured list. Across his last 29 at-bats, the speedy outfielder is batting just .207 but has two big flies, two doubles and four RBI. Mullins had worked his way atop Baltimore's lineup earlier this year before giving way to Jackson Holliday in the leadoff spot -- the former has now hit sixth or lower in each of his last 16 outings -- and Mullins' fantasy upside may not be as pronounced while he's in the lower part of the batting order.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Slugs home run in win

Mullins went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run during Saturday's 6-5 win over the Angels. Mullins went yard for the 11th time, bringing his OPS up to .786 on the season. If he can keep that pace, it would be the second-best season mark of his career, behind just his career season in 2021. The 30-year-old now has four extra-base hits over his last three games after going the five prior games without one.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Day off against Skubal

Mullins is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Tigers. It's lefty ace Tarik Skubal on the bump for the Tigers, so the left-handed-hitting Mullins will receive a day off. Colton Cowser will slide over to center field and Dylan Carlson will handle left field for the Orioles.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Activated by Orioles

The Orioles activated Mullins (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. Mullins has been shelved since late May by a right hamstring strain but has been cleared to return to action after taking live at-bats Sunday. He will be skipping a rehab assignment. Colton Cowser and Jorge Mateo had been handling center field while Mullins was out, but Cowser will move to a corner-outfield spot now and Mateo will likely operate mostly in a reserve role.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Out with hamstring strain

The Orioles placed Mullins on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 29, due to a right hamstring strain. It's not yet known when exactly Mullins suffered the injury, but he sat out two games at the start of the week for rest purposes before rejoining the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals, and he went 2-for-4 with a steal and two runs in that contest. According to Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, the outfielder was diagnosed with a mild strain and could return when first eligible June 8. Cooper Hummel was added to the big-league roster in a corresponding move, and he could see action in center field while Mullins is out, along with Dylan Carlson and Jorge Mateo.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Returning to starting nine

Mullins (rest) is starting and playing center field for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports. The Orioles rested Mullins in back-to-back games to begin the week, but he'll be back in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against St. Louis. Mullins is slashing .226/.320/.446 in 203 plate appearances this season.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Resting against another righty

Mullins is being rested for a second game in a row Tuesday against the Cardinals, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports. The lefty-hitting Mullins typically plays against most lefties and all righties, yet he's now sat in three of the last four games -- all against righties. Mullins is hitting .211 with two home runs, one steal and a 33.3 percent strikeout rate over the last 10 games. Jorge Mateo is getting a rare start against a righty in Mullins' place.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Out of lineup

Mullins isn't part of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals. Mullins will yield to Dylan Carlson in center field Monday for the start of a three-game set against St. Louis. Mullins is 12-for-50 (.240) with three home runs, two stolen bases and a 31.5 percent K rate in his last 13 appearances.
