  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Works key walk

Betts went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a walk in Game 4 of the NLDS against the Phillies on Thursday. The matchup was a pitcher's duel between Cristopher Sanchez and Tyler Glasnow, and Betts had one of the most important at-bats of the low-scoring affair. He came to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh inning, when he worked a walk to tie the game at 1-1. While Betts had a subpar regular season relative to his lofty standards, he's gone 10-for-26 with four RBI across six postseason contests.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Vintage performance Wednesday

Betts went 4-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's win over the Reds in Game 2 of the National League Wild Card Series. Betts helped lift Los Angeles to the NLDS with his seven total bases Wednesday and six hits across the two-game set. His .732 OPS during the regular season was by far the worst mark of his career, but the 32-year-old can still make a big impact on any given night. Betts is chasing his fourth World Series title and third with the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Not in Friday's lineup

Betts is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Betts will join Freddie Freeman, Tommy Edman and Max Muncy on the bench for Friday's series opener after the Dodgers clinched in the NL West with an 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Hyeseong Kim will start at shortstop and bat fifth.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Reaches 20-homer mark

Betts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-3 win over the Giants. Betts stalled out with a month-long power drought from July 6 to Aug. 6, but he was able to turn things around in a big way. He reached the 20-homer mark Friday after missing that plateau last year. He's smacked six long balls and supplied 19 RBI over his last 15 contests, a span in which he's hitting a stellar .339 (21-for-62). Overall, Betts has a .260/.328/.413 slash line with 79 RBI, 93 runs scored, 22 doubles, two triples and eight stolen bases over 143 games.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Clubs 19th homer in loss

Betts went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two additional RBI in Monday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Phillies. Betts had no trouble getting the ball in the air Monday, supplying sacrifice flies in the third and fifth innings before getting one to go over the fence for a solo shot in the seventh. He is batting .381 (21-for-55) with five homers and 19 RBI over 13 games in September, numbers more in line with the level of production expected of a star player. He's up to a .263/.331/.415 slash line on the year while adding 19 homers, 78 RBI, 92 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 22 doubles and two triples through 139 contests. While his progress lately has been encouraging, he's still tracking toward an OPS under .800 for the first time in his career.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Continues late-season surge

Betts with 4-for-5 with a grand slam and an RBI double in Wednesday's 9-0 victory versus the Rockies. Betts contributed to a four-run Los Angeles second inning with a double that drove home Shohei Ohtani. Betts then broke the game open with a grand slam that made the score 8-0 in the eighth inning. The big game marked the fifth straight multi-RBI effort by the talented shortstop. Extending further, Betts has reached base in 16 consecutive contests, batting .381 (24-for-63) with five homers, 17 RBI and nine runs scored over that span.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Homer, double in win

Betts went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Rockies. Betts has turned his season around in a big way, hitting safely in 12 of his last 15 games. Seven of those have been multi-hit efforts, giving him a .345 average over that span. He's also swatted four homers during the hot stretch, putting him at 17 long balls on the year. Betts has added a .255/.324/.397 slash line with 69 RBI, 85 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples and eight stolen bases through 134 contests.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Cranks 15th homer in loss

Betts went 1-for-4 with a solo home in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Pirates. The 32-year-old shortstop smacked his 15th homer of the year, and he now has at least one hit in five of his last six outings. Betts has found himself in a season-long slump -- his .701 OPS is well on pace to be the worst mark of his career by far -- but his overall fantasy upside should remain decent from the top part of the Dodgers' lineup. Through 568 plate appearances, Betts is slashing a pedestrian .250/.322/.379 with 18 doubles, 61 RBI, 83 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Pops 14th homer

Betts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 7-0 win over the Reds. Betts logged his fourth multi-hit effort over his last six games, a span in which he has gone 10-for-25 (.400) at the plate. He's up to 14 homers on the year, including three over 22 contests in August. The 32-year-old has added 58 RBI, 79 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 17 doubles, one triple and a .250/.320/.378 slash line over 121 games. While it's been a challenging year, Betts looks to have his hitting back on track in time for the stretch run.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Gets on base four times

Betts went 3-for-4 with a walk and one run scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Padres. Betts has logged multiple hits eight times over his last 17 games, and he's added a 7:4 BB:K in that span to help his turnaround at the plate. However, over six contests versus the Padres in that stretch, Betts went a modest 5-for-21 (.238), so it's mildly concerning that he's having trouble against the Dodgers' main competition for the NL West lead. Sunday's effort lifted Betts' slash line to .248/.318/.371 through 120 contests this season.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Continuing resurgence

Betts went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs Thursday in a 9-5 victory against the Rockies. Betts got a turn in the leadoff slot with Shohei Ohtani (thigh) given a rest day. The outfielder-turned-shortstop set the table well in the series finale, reaching four times and scoring twice. Betts went through an 0-for-20 five-game stretch from late July to early August that brought his season batting average down to .231, but he's bounced back nicely since, slashing .351/.415/.491 with two homers, nine RBI, 14 runs and a 6:4 BB:K over his past 14 contests. Betts' .689 OPS on the campaign is still tracking toward his worst career mark by far, but he's at least surging at the right time as the Dodgers head into the stretch with a one-game lead over San Diego in the NL West.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Taking seat Wednesday

Betts is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies. Betts started the previous 21 games and has an .865 OPS in his past 54 at-bats, but he will receive Wednesday off in Colorado, Miguel Rojas will step in at shortstop and bat eighth versus Rockies righty Tanner Gordon.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Smacks go-ahead homer

Betts went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Padres. Betts posted an eight-game hitting streak between Aug. 5-13, though he opened this critical weekend series versus the Padres by going 0-for-6 over the first two games. The 32-year-old's first hit of the series was clutch, as he put the Dodgers ahead for good in the eighth inning after the bullpen squandered a lead. Betts is still dealing with some inconsistency at the plate, batting a modest .254 (15-for-59) with four extra-base hits over 15 games in August. Overall, he's hitting .242 with a .683 OPS, 13 homers, 57 RBI, 75 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 114 contests.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Enters starting nine

Betts will start at shortstop and bat second Wednesday against the Angels. Betts was left off the initial lineup card the Dodgers handed in Wednesday, but he'll end up back in the starting nine and aim to extend his hitting streak to eight games. Max Muncy will step out of the lineup to make room for Betts, shifting Alex Freeland to third base and Miguel Rojas to second.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Receiving break Wednesday

Betts is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Betts has found his groove at the plate recently with a .400 average (12-for-30) over the past seven games, but he'll take a seat for the series finale in Anaheim. Miguel Rojas will receive a start at shortstop Wednesday for the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Goes yard Friday

Betts went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and two total runs scored in Friday's 5-1 win over the Blue Jays. Betts' fifth-inning homer was ultimately all the Dodgers needed in the win, but he plated another run as part of a rally in the seventh. The 32-year-old could be sparking a better stretch at the plate -- he's 6-for-12 with three extra-base hits over his last three games, rebounding from an 0-for-20 skid prior to that. Overall, it's still been an underwhelming campaign for Betts, who is slashing .239/.309/.371 with 12 homers, 51 RBI, 68 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 106 contests.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Gets on base four times

Betts went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and three runs scored in Tuesday's 12-6 win over the Cardinals. Betts entered Tuesday 0-for-20 over his previous five games. His lack of production has been a hot topic of conversation, but manager Dave Roberts has no plans of dropping Betts in the order. He's now gone a month without a homer, batting just .186 (16-for-86) with four doubles and four RBI over that 22-game sample. Overall, the 32-year-old has a .236/.308/.361 slash line, 11 homers, 48 RBI, 66 runs scored, 16 doubles, one triple and eight stolen bases through 104 contests this season.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Sticking in top of order

Betts will continue to hit in the top two spots of the batting order despite his recent struggles, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports. Manager Dave Roberts stated in his pregame presser that moving Betts down in the order isn't in the game plan at this time. "You've got to think of the alternatives. How guys are swinging right now and the way I look at our lineup and the way guys are swinging, there's not better alternative," said Roberts. "Also, given that Will Smith doesn't play every day, you're trying to not mix and match the top of the order when the catcher plays three out of four or whatever it is. So that's kind of the math." Betts has been scuffling at the dish for a good part of the last month, slashing .167/.219/.265 with two home runs, seven RBI, two stolen bases and 12 runs scored over his last 26 matchups but should continue to see opportunities to produce atop the Dodgers' batting order.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Pilfers seventh base, scores thrice

Betts went 2-for-4 with a walk, a steal and three runs scored in Monday's 5-2 victory over the Reds. Betts drew his sixth straight start in the leadoff spot and snapped a 30-game stretch without a steal when he stole second in the seventh inning. Since drawing his first start as the leadoff batter July 20, the former MVP has hit .231 (6-for-26) with six runs, one RBI and four walks as manager Dave Roberts seeks a way to kickstart Betts' bat. Through 425 total plate appearances, the 32-year-old is slashing .240/.313/.372 with 11 homers, 62 runs scored and 46 RBI.

  • Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Rejoins lineup Sunday

Betts (personal) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Sunday against the Red Sox. The 32-year-old didn't start the first two games versus Boston due to a personal matter, but he made an appearance as a pinch hitter in Saturday's contest. Betts has gone 3-for-30 over his past eight games, dropping his slash line for the season to .237/.308/.369, all of which would be career worsts.
