  • Travis Jankowski: Chooses free agency

Jankowski elected free agency Sunday after clearing waivers. Jankowski will be on the lookout for another minor-league deal after he was recently booted off an organization's 40-man roster for the third time this season. Across his stops with the White Sox, Rays and Mets thus far in 2025, Jankowski has slashed .244/.286/.289 with zero home runs, two steals, eight runs and two RBI over 50 plate appearances in the majors.

  • Mets' Travis Jankowski: Removed from 40-man roster

The Mets designated Jankowski for assignment Thursday. Jankowski was added to the roster two-plus weeks ago but saw just one plate appearance during his time with the Mets. The veteran outfielder is likely to clear waivers and become a free agent.

  • Mets' Travis Jankowski: Contract selected

The Mets selected Jankowski's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday. Jankowski netted a minor-league deal from the Mets earlier this month, and it didn't take long for him to get another opportunity at the big-league level. The 34-year-old has slashed .244/.286/.289 in 21 games between the White Sox and Rays in 2025 and will serve as a reserve outfielder for the Mets.

  • Mets' Travis Jankowski: Nets MiLB deal from Mets

The Mets signed Jankowski to a minor-league contract Tuesday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports. Jankowski elected free agency after being removed from the Rays' 40-man roster last week. The veteran outfielder has slashed .244/.286/.289 in 21 games between the White Sox and Rays in 2025 and will give the Mets some experienced outfield depth at Triple-A Syracuse.

  • Rays' Travis Jankowski: Goes on IL with groin strain

The Rays placed Jankowski on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left groin strain. Jankowski was removed from the seventh inning of Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays due to the injury. He'll be eligible to return May 25, but it's unclear whether he'll be ready to go on that date. With Josh Lowe back from the IL, there might not be a role for Jankowski once he's physically ready to return.

  • Rays' Travis Jankowski: Joins active roster

The Rays selected Jankowski's contract from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. The Rays are in dire need of outfield depth with four outfielders currently on the injured list, so they'll bring up Jankowski immediately after acquiring him from the White Sox. With a .506 OPS over the past two seasons, Jankowski seems likely to remain on the bench most days and will likely be the first to head back to the minors once Tampa Bay begins to activate its injured players. Coco Montes was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • White Sox's Travis Jankowski: Re-signs with South Siders

The White Sox re-signed Jankowski to a minor-league contract Wednesday. Jankowski elected free agency Tuesday after passing through waivers unclaimed, but he's quickly re-signed with the South Siders on a minor-league pact. The veteran outfielder will report to Triple-A Charlotte for the time being.

  • White Sox's Travis Jankowski: Officially added to roster

The White Sox selected Jankowski's contract Thursday. Despite not joining the White Sox until mid-March after the Cubs granted him his release earlier in spring training, Jankowski was able to secure an outfield job with the South Siders. Unless the White Sox commit to right-handed hitters Austin Slater and Michael Taylor as full-time starters in the outfield while Mike Tauchman (hamstring) is on the injured list to begin the season, the lefty-hitting Jankowski could be a candidate to handle a large-side platoon role in the early going.

  • White Sox's Travis Jankowski: Lands roster spot

The White Sox informed Jankowski on Wednesday that he'll be included on the Opening Day roster, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Jankowski didn't sign with the White Sox until mid-March, but he made enough of an impression during his brief time in camp to clinch a roster spot. The veteran outfielder could see some starts against right-handed pitching if Mike Tauchman (hamstring) needs to miss time to begin the season.

  • Cubs' Travis Jankowski: Sent to minors camp

The Cubs reassigned Jankowski to minor-league camp Sunday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Jankowski was part of the Cubs' latest round of cuts as the team looks to trim its travel roster to 31 in advance of the two-game, season-opening series in Tokyo versus the Dodgers that begins March 18. The veteran outfielder attended big-league camp as a non-roster invitee after slashing .200/.266/.242 over 207 plate appearances in the majors with the Rangers in 2024. Jankowski is tentatively slated to open the season at Triple-A Iowa, though the Cubs could grant the 33-year-old a release from his minor-league contract if he requests it.

Jankowski signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Jankowski slashed just .200/.266/.242 with 12 RBI over 207 plate appearances last season with the Rangers. The 33-year-old outfielder has never been regarded as an offensive threat with a career .624 OPS and he'll most likely serve as organizational depth at Triple-A Iowa.

  • Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Lands on waivers

The Rangers placed Jankowski on waivers Thursday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports. In an effort from Texas to shed a bit of payroll, Jankowski is now available for any team to claim for the final month of the year. However, the 33-year-old owns a .491 OPS through 167 plate appearances on the year and has gone just 1-for-17 since the All-Star break, so he will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed and remain with the Rangers.

  • Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Losing work to Foscue

Jankowski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles. After starting in four of the preceding five games, the lefty-hitting Jankowski finds himself on the bench for the second matchup in a row versus a right-hander (Dean Kremer). Jankowski appears to have ceded his regular spot in the lineup to Justin Foscue, who will get a second consecutive start at designated hitter after being called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

  • Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Heading to bench for series finale

Jankowski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros. Jankowski has been the Rangers' favored option of late for the final spot in their regular lineup, as he had started in each of the previous three contests and five of the previous six games. However, the 32-year-old will hit the bench for the final game before the All-Star break as the Rangers make room for Andrew Knizner behind the plate and deploy their top catcher, Jonah Heim, at designated hitter.
