  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Back in lineup for Game 6

Springer (side) will bat leadoff and serve as the designated hitter in Friday's World Series Game 6 against the Dodgers. Springer did not play in Games 4 or 5 after exiting Game 3 with discomfort in his right side, but he's improved enough to give it a go as the Fall Classic moves back to Toronto. The 36-year-old Springer has an .884 OPS with four home runs over 14 contest this postseason.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Likely to return for Game 6

Manager John Schneider said Thursday that there's a strong chance Springer (side) returns to the starting lineup in Game 6 of the World Series on Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. Toronto's skipper added that Springer has "checked every box physically so far" and nearly returned to the lineup in Game 5, but the Jays instead opted to give the outfielder another day to recover. His return to the lineup after a two-game absence would provide Toronto's offense with a significant power boost, as the 36-year-old has posted a .561 slugging percentage across 65 plate appearances in the postseason.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: On bench again for Game 5

Springer (side) isn't in the lineup for Game 5 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Wednesday. Manager John Schneider said Wednesday that Springer has made "significant progress" in his recovery since exiting Game 3 with a side injury, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca, but evidently not enough to return to the starting nine for the final game in Los Angeles. Bo Bichette will get another start as Toronto's designated hitter Wednesday; meanwhile, Springer could be available as a pinch hitter.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Absent from Game 4 lineup

Springer (side) isn't in the lineup for Game 4 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Tuesday. Springer was forced to leave Game 3 early after injuring his side on a swing in the seventh inning, and he'll officially remain on the bench for the beginning of Tuesday's contest. Bo Bichette will work as Toronto's designated hitter in Springer's stead, opening up second base for Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Sent for MRI

Springer will undergo an MRI after departing Monday's Game 3 of the World Series due to right side discomfort, Jon Paul Hoornstra of Newsweek.com reports. Springer exited Monday's matchup in the seventh inning after a swing left him in obvious discomfort. The club will presumably wait until reviewing his scans to determine his status for Tuesday's Game 4 and the remainder of the series. Ty France could draw the start in the DH slot if Springer is unable to go Tuesday.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Exits Game 3 with injury

Springer was removed from Monday's Game 3 of the World Series against the Dodgers due to an apparent right side injury, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Springer led off the top of the seventh inning and appeared to take a normal cut at the first pitch, but he was spotted grabbing his side after the swing and was promptly lifted. He'll presumably be sent for further testing before the club comments on his availability for Game 4 and beyond. Ty France was called on to pinch hit in Springer's place.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Could play outfield, if needed

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Thursday that Springer is "very capable" of playing the outfield in the World Series, if needed, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports. Springer has been deployed as the Blue Jays' primary designated hitter this season and hasn't played an inning in the outfield in a month. However, one way to reincorporate Bo Bichette (knee) back into the lineup would be to use him at DH and have Springer play the outfield. Schneider did note that he'd prefer not to take players out of their comfort zone, and Springer clearly has settled in nicely at DH with a resurgent regular season (.959 OPS, 32 home runs) and postseason (.929 OPS, four home runs).

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Powers Toronto to World Series

Springer went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, one walk and two runs scored in Monday's 4-3 victory over Seattle in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series. Springer's lone hit of the evening was a huge one, as he delivered a three-run blast over the fence in left field during the bottom of the seventh inning to put his team ahead by a run. The bullpen would do the rest, sending the Blue Jays to the World Series for the first time since 1993. Springer managed to navigate through an injury scare after being struck by a pitch in the right knee during Game 5, managing to return immediately to the lineup in Game 6 before providing the clutch hit of the series in Game 7.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Included in Game 6 lineup

Springer (knee) will start at designated hitter and bat leadoff Sunday in Game 6 of the ALCS against the Mariners. Springer's availability for Game 6 had been in question after he exited Friday's 6-2 loss in Game 5 upon being hit in the right knee by a pitch, but the day off between contests appears to have provided sufficient time for the 36-year-old to heal. He'll slot into his usual spot atop the batting order as the Blue Jays look to extend the series to seven games. Through the Blue Jays' first nine playoff games, Springer ranks third on the team with a .934 OPS.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: X-rays negative

X-rays on Springer's right knee came back negative after he was hit by a pitch Friday in Game 5 of the ALCS, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports. Springer exited Friday's contest immediately after getting plunked in the seventh inning. The fact that his imaging came back clean keeps the door open for his return at some point in the postseason, though it remains unclear whether he'll be able to play right away in Game 6 on Sunday. If he sits, Davis Schneider and Joey Loperfido would be candidates to start in Springer's place.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Exits after HBP

Springer was removed from Game 5 of the ALCS against Seattle on Friday after getting hit on the right knee by a pitch, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. Springer went down after taking a 95-mph sinker off his kneecap, and he was taken out of the game after being unable to make it to first base without a severe limp. The Blue Jays will presumably bring him in for X-rays to determine whether he suffered a fracture, at which point more will be known regarding his status for the remainder of the postseason.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Goes deep in Game 1

Springer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Mariners in Game 1 of the ALCS. Springer took Bryce Miller deep on the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning, giving the Blue Jays an early 1-0 lead and accounting for the only offense in the game for Toronto. The outfielder has now gone 4-for-21 with two home runs, three RBI and five runs scored over five games during the postseason.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Two hits, including homer, in Game 2

Springer went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 13-7 win over the Yankees in Game 2 of the ALDS. Springer walked and came around to score on a grand slam by Vladimir Guerrero in the fourth inning. He later added a solo homer off Will Warren in the following frame and a double in the bottom of the seventh. Springer will look to build off Sunday's performance when Toronto attempts to sweep New York on the road Tuesday.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Homer, stolen base in finale

Springer went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Sunday's 13-4 win over the Rays. It was a fitting end to an outstanding regular season for Springer, who batted .369 with a 1.121 OPS across 50 games following the All-Star break. Overall, Springer posted a career-best .309 average with a .959 OPS, 32 homers, 84 RBI, 106 runs scored and 18 steals across 586 plate appearances in his 12th major-league campaign.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Reaches 30 homers

Springer went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Royals. The veteran outfielder led off the game with his 30th homer of the year, but it was the only bright spot for the Blue Jays in an ugly 20-1 rout. It's the first time Springer has reached the 30-HR plateau since 2019, and his 101 runs on the season represent the first time he's hit triple digits in that category since 2018. He's finishing out the 2025 regular season on a high note, slashing .328/.416/.642 over 17 games in September with six home runs, 11 RBI and 17 runs.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Delivers three hits

Springer went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win against the Rays. Springer knocked three singles in the victory, including a two-run base hit in the second inning. He has a pair of three-hit performances over his last three games and has multiple hits in nine of his last 20 appearances. During that span, he's gone 29-for-79 (.367). Springer owns a terrific .305/.395/.550 slash line with 100 runs scored and 78 RBI through 531 plate appearances.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Knocks three extra-base hits

Springer went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over Baltimore. Springer put Toronto on the board with an RBI double in the third inning before ripping a solo shot in the fifth. He later doubled and scored in the seventh. Springer now has back-to-back multi-hit games after a small 4-for-26 (.154) slump over his previous seven appearances. The veteran outfielder has gone 54-for-146 (.370) with 20 extra-base hits since the All-Star break, bringing his season slash line up to .303/.395/.554 through 521 plate appearances.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Stays locked in during comeback win

Springer went 2-for-4 with two walks, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Reds. It was another dazzling performance from the 35-year-old, who has been one of the hottest hitters in the majors since returning from a concussion Aug. 16. Springer has seven multi-hit efforts in his last 11 games, slashing an eye-popping .432/.528/.886 over that stretch with six homers, 10 RBI and 18 runs, and the surge has carried him to a .956 OPS on the season -- third in MLB behind MVP contenders Aaron Judge (1.106) and Shohei Ohtani (.998).

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Two more homers Tuesday

Springer went 3-for-4 with a walk, two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI in Tuesday's 12-9 win over the Reds. The veteran outfielder led off the game with a solo shot off Scott Barlow, and then muscled a Brent Suter fastball over the center-field fence for a two-run blast in the fourth. It's the second two-homer performance from Springer in his last seven games, and since returning from a concussion Aug. 16 he's been on an absolute tear, slashing .381/.466/.794 over 16 contests with eight home runs, four steals, 14 RBI and 21 runs. With 23 games left on Toronto's schedule, Springer needs four more long balls to reach 30 for the third time in his career, and four stolen bases to tie his career high of 20.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Goes deep twice

Springer went 4-for-5 with two solo homers and four runs scored in Tuesday's loss to Minnesota. Springer singled and scored in the first inning before knocking the first of his two home runs in the second. He went deep again in the fifth before ending his big night with another single and run scored in the ninth. Since returning from the injured list, Springer has gone 16-for-42 (.381) with six home runs in 10 games. He's having a terrific bounce-back campaign, slashing .301/.388/.541 with 44 extra-base hits and 79 runs scored through 111 contests.
