Mike Puma@NYPost_Mets13H agoBrandon Nimmo last summer actually started doing the math - he wanted to beat Ed Kranepool’s career Mets record for games played. He later found out postseason games wouldn’t count toward the record and was disappointed, realizing he wouldn’t get there under this contract. -
Michael Baron@michaelgbaron14H agoI find it most interesting #MetsTwitter has forgotten how sloppy and flat out atrocious the #Mets defense was in the second half of the season. Y'all valued it over the last 2 months of the year and killed them for it. And, many are selectively forgetting about it now.

Michael Baron@michaelgbaron14H agoFor those who are losing their minds right now, the #Mets just got a two-time gold glove award winner in Marcus Semien, includng 2025. Also - this sets them up for a lot of opportunities in the free agent and trade markets. So, just be patient for now. This isn't it.

Michael Baron@michaelgbaron14H agoMarcus Semien, meanwhile, had five defensive runs saved (DRS) and 7 outs above average (OAA) at second in 2025. So, he does single-handedly upgrade the defense on the right side. And, his presence there makes Pete Alonso's defense more tolerable if they bring him back. #Mets

Michael Baron@michaelgbaron14H agoIt's actually worth mentioning the #Mets had 9 defensive runs saved (DRS) and 3 outs above average (OAA) at second base in 2025. They also had 5 DRS and -1 OAA in left field. But, this trade still opens up free agent possibilities (and maybe trades) to vastly improve the OF.
