Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said during a television interview Tuesday starting pitcher prospect Rafael Montero is on the radar as a player who could get promoted to the majors this season, according to the New York Post.
Montero, who was recently promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas from Double-A Binghamton, is 4-4 with a 3.38 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in nine starts. He also has struck out 59 batters and walked just seven in 53 1/3 innings.
