Pirates closer Mark Melancon worked a perfect ninth inning in Pittsburgh's 4-2 win over the Marlins on Monday, earning his 11th save of the season.
Melancon needed just 13 pitches to get through the inning, forcing two groundball outs and one fly out. Melancon lowered his ERA to 3.00 in 21 innings of work. Melancon has not allowed a run in his last five appearances and just one in his last eight.
