Pirates third baseman Pedro Alvarez left the stadium for his third home run of the postseason on Monday during the Game 4 loss at home in the National League Division Series against St. Louis.
Alvarez hit a solo homer off starter Michael Wacha in the eighth inning. It was the first hit of the game for the Pirates. It ended up being the only hit of the game for the Bucs as the series is tied at two games apiece.
Alvarez went 1 for 3 and is batting .385 in the NLDS. After going 0 for 3 in the wild card game, Alvarez has gone 5 for 13 in the NLDS with three homers and five RBI. He has driven in at least one run in every playoff game in which he's played thus far.
