Rays pitcher Matt Moore dealt with left elbow soreness during Monday's outing against the Royals, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Moore was visited on the mound by a trainer after grimacing following a pitch in the fifth inning, and the team made the decision to take him out.

The team told the paper that Moore's tests were inconsistent, and that "there's no reason to believe it's serious at this time." He is expected to undergo an MRI Tuesday morning to determine the severity of the injury. His status remains uncertain for his next scheduled start on Sunday against the Reds.
