Angels third baseman Luis Jimenez was out of the lineup for a ninth straight game because of a thumb injury Monday at Oakland. Andrew Romine continued to start in his absence.
Jimenez had hit .314 (11 for 35) with three doubles since taking over as the Angels' starting third baseman Aug. 29.
