The Phillies have placed right-hander Luis Garcia on the 15-day disabled list and purchased the contract of fellow pitcher David Buchanan from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Buchanan is set to start against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Garcia has been dealing with a right forearm strain.
