Astros reliever Kevin Chapman has a "leg up" over the other lefties in the bullpen, according to MLB.com.
Manager Bo Porter said he'll take the seven best relievers, regardless of their handedness. The fact that Chapman is a lefty gives him an advantage, but most teams try not to carry more than two lefties on their roster unless those players are also effective against right-handers.
Chapman had a 1.77 ERA in 20 1/3 innings last year.
