Brewers shortstop Jean Segura extended his hitting streak to 10 games Wednesday against the Rangers, one night after picking up his 35th stolen base in unconventional fashion. Segura was left hanging off third base after a botched bunt attempt, but managed to swipe home anyways after the Rangers botched the rundown.
Segura now has 35 steals with about a month and a half left in the season, and he isn't satisfied until he settles on a nice, big round number.
"I've always been an aggressive runner," Segura told MLB.com. "It's a part of my game, stealing and running. One of my goals is 50 [steals]."
Segura is hitting .313 with an .809 OPS on the season, and he ranks second in the National League in steals.
