San Diego infielder Logan Forsythe is currently taking ground balls at second, third and shortstop and is also fielding fly balls in left, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune. Unfortunately, he's not the leader to start at any of those positions to break camp. However, manager Bud Black believes Forsythe will get starter's at-bats. How? "Is a guy offensively capable of getting 500 at-bats in a season and can he do the job on defense?” Padres manager Bud Black asked rhetorically Tuesday morning. “If the answer to those questions is yes, I view that player as being a starter. Logan has the ability to do that. So, yes, I see him as a starter.”
