The best-of-three Wild Card Series between the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres will wrap up Thursday with a winner-take-all Game 3 at Wrigley Field. The Padres got even in Wednesday's Game 2, which forces a do-or-die Game 3.

Both the Cubs and Padres were the second-place finishers in their divisions (NL Central and NL West, respectively), hence their wild card positions. The winner of this Wild Card Series will advance to take on the Milwaukee Brewers, the National League's No. 1 seed.

Game 3 prediction

The Cubs have the better offense and they're at home facing a pitcher with a 5.38 ERA. They can get to Darvish, which means they won't have to come back against the vaunted Padres bullpen. Pick: Cubs -121 -- Matt Snyder
