Kimbrel was removed after loading the bases during a save situation. He expressed a clear displeasure with Gonzalez for making the move, but immediately apologized after the game. Kimbrel said his competitive nature got the best of him. After missing a couple days with arm soreness, Kimbrel indicated that his shoulder was not an issue during the appearance.
Kimbrel has a 4.26 ERA in 6 1/3 innings.
