Indians pitcher Bryan Shaw was closing out an extra-innings game against the Diamondbacks Tuesday, but could not make a lead stand up.

Shaw pitched a scoreless 10th inning, and was rewarded with a two-run lead in the 11th. He came back out to try and finish what he started, but the Diamondbacks got to him to extend the game.

Shaw allowed a one-out home run, followed by a walk and a single to put the tying run on third base. He was pulled in favor of John Axford who allowed the Diamondbacks to tie it, costing Shaw the chance at a win.

Shaw has been mostly terrific at the back of the bullpen for the Indians, though he hasn't been asked to save many games. He has a 2.75 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 36 innings.
