The Blue Jays placed Luis Perez on the disabled list with a season-ending elbow injury Thursday and called up Aaron Loup from Double-A New Hampshire, the club announced via Twitter.
Loup has a 2.78 ERA in 37 games with New Hampshire, with 43 strikeouts against 14 walks in 45.1 innings. He could take over for Perez, getting tough lefties out but also having the ability to go multiple innings.
