Athletics relief pitcher Taylor Thompson will take another step toward recovery Thursday from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him all season when he throws 20 pitches of live batting practice, the Bay Area News Group has reported.
Thompson, who is on the 60-day disabled list, hasn't pitched since last August. The right-hander appeared in five games for the White Sox in 2014.
