  • Blackhawks' Anton Frondell: Lights lamp twice in OT loss

Frondell scored two goals, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Bruins.

The 19-year-old center peppered Michael DiPietro with nine shots on goal, and two of them found the back of the net. Frondell had just one goal and six points through the first 13 games of the season, and had been held off the scoresheet entirely in the prior six contests, but growing pains are to be expected in his first full NHL season. Frondell's first-period tally, a blistering one-timer from the faceoff dot, was his first career power-play goal.

  • Lightning's Conor Geekie: Goal in three consecutive games

Geekie scored a goal in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to Nashville.

Geekie is on a sweet goal run -- he has one in each of his last three games on six shots overall. Is this the start of his breakout? We're not entirely sold, but big men always seem to take more time to spin up their games. And he's still on the fourth line. Geekie may help in daily formats right now and is a hold in dynasty formats, at least for now. He has just four goals in 13 games this season.

  • Lightning's Jake Guentzel: Four-game, five-point scoring streak

Guentzel scored a goal in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Predators.

Guentzel is on a four-game, five-point scoring streak that includes four goals. He has 18 shots in that span, a marked increase from the 20 in his first nine games. Guentzel's line mate, Nikita Kucherov, has requested a trade. His value isn't tied to Kuch, but Guentzel does benefit from playing with the reigning Hart trophy winner. His fantasy value post-trade will drop, as there's no way to get back the kind of talent that's leaving in any deal.

  • Kirby Dach C | MON

Canadiens' Kirby Dach: Late scratch due to illness

Dach will miss Saturday's game against Pittsburgh because of an illness.

Dach has three assists, six PIM, 18 hits and six blocks in 13 appearances with Montreal this season. Owen Beck is set to draw into the lineup because of Dach's illness.

  • Lightning's Zemgus Girgensons: Unavailable Saturday

Girgensons (lower body) won't play against Nashville on Saturday, per Lightning reporter Gabby Shirley.

Girgensons will miss his second straight game, and it's unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. He has earned one goal, two points, 14 shots on net, 31 hits and nine blocked shots in 11 appearances this season.

  • Wild's Joel Eriksson Ek: Set to play Sunday

Eriksson Ek (undisclosed) is expected to play against Washington on Sunday, per Joe Smith of The Athletic.

Eriksson Ek returned to the ice for Saturday's practice after getting banged up in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Islanders. He has produced five goals, 12 points, 50 shots on net, 20 hits and five blocked shots in 15 appearances this season.

  • Mason Shaw C | MIN

Wild's Mason Shaw: Recalled from AHL

Shaw was summoned from AHL Iowa on Saturday.

Shaw has registered four goals and 10 points in 10 minor-league outings this campaign. He could make his NHL season debut against Washington on Sunday if Joel Eriksson Ek (undisclosed) is unavailable.

  • Avalanche's Beckett Hamilton: Adds four points for Red Deer

Hamilton scored a goal and added three assists in WHL Red Deer's 5-2 win over Calgary on Friday.

Hamilton logged his ninth multi-point effort in 13 games this season. He's up to 11 goals, 14 assists and 63 shots on net, but this was his first multi-point outing in his last four contests. Hamilton continues to be a big performer for Red Deer and should be one of the most consistent scorers in the WHL.

  • Kings' Kenny Connors: Trio of assists for Ontario

Connors logged three assists in AHL Ontario's 5-4 loss to Tucson on Friday.

Connors logged his first multi-point effort of the season. He's up to one goal, six helpers, 25 shots on net and a minus-8 rating over 10 appearances. He had 41 points over 65 regular-season contests in 2025-26. Connors should be in the mix for call-ups if he finds more consistent offense in the AHL.

  • Wild's Justin Kirkland: Produces three points

Kirkland scored twice and added an assist in AHL Iowa's 6-3 loss to Charlotte on Friday.

Kirkland has played well to start the season with five goals and four assists over 11 outings. He earned one call-up to Minnesota but didn't get into a game. The 30-year-old winger will likely see most of the rest of the campaign in the AHL, where he'll serve as a veteran leader for Iowa.
