Pitlick was placed on waivers by the Wild on Thursday for the purpose of reassignment to AHL Iowa.
Pitlick made 32 regular-season appearances for the Wild last year, recording two goals, 78 hits, 24 PIM and 19 blocked shots while averaging a career-low 7:46 of ice time. He'll begin the regular season in the minors if he clears waivers but will be a candidate to be called up if Minnesota deals with injuries at some point.
