Compher (undisclosed) has a "real good chance" of playing against Vancouver on Thursday, head coach Todd McLellan told Max Bultman of The Athletic.
Compher hasn't played since Oct. 4 because of the injury. He'll need to be activated off injured reserve first, but if Compher ends up playing Thursday, then he will likely serve in a middle-six capacity, while Sheldon Dries might be a healthy scratch after playing in Detroit's past six games.
