Kemp was placed on waivers Thursday for the purpose of reassignment.
Kemp is a 27-year-old blueliner with just one game of NHL experience, which came back in 2023-24, so it's unlikely he gets picked up off waivers. Kemp figures to spend the season playing in the minors and has little chance of securing NHL minutes.
