Thompson made 23 saves in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Flyers.
Activated from a brief IR stint earlier in the day after recovering from a lower-body injury, Thompson got a cushy matchup against the NHL's 32nd-ranked offense and didn't disappoint, with the only two pucks to get past him coming on a re-directed point shot and on a Philly power play. Through eight starts this season, Thompson's gone 5-3-0 with a 2.78 GAA and .903 save percentage as the Capitals' No. 1 netminder.
