Brodzinski scored two goals in AHL Hershey's 4-2 loss to Springfield on Friday.
Brodzinski has played well with Hershey, earning four goals and five assists over 10 games. He also had a two-game stint with the Capitals, earning one assist in that span. The 33-year-old forward has the experience to fill in as a bottom-six option in the NHL, but the bulk of his playing time is set to come in the AHL this year.
