  • Tommy Tremble TE | CAR

Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Headed for another start

Tremble appears to be in line to serve as the Panthers' top tight end in Sunday's game against the Dolphins while Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle) remains out.

While Sanders was sidelined for last Sunday's 42-13 loss to the Patriots, Tremble stepped up to play a season-high 75 percent of the Panthers' offensive snaps, finishing with five catches for 42 yards and a touchdown on eight targets. Tremble could be headed for a similar snap share once again in Week 5, though his usage in the passing game may take a hit since the Panthers will get one of their key pass catchers (Xavier Legette) back from a two-game absence due to a hamstring injury.

  • Will Dissly TE | LAC

Chargers' Will Dissly: Draws questionable tag for Week 5

Dissly (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.

Dissly -- who worked fully Friday -- will carry a designation into the weekend after he was a limited participant in practices Wednesday and Thursday, while managing the knee issue. Before missing the Chargers' last two games, Dissly had served as the team's top tight end through the first two weeks of the season, but he drew just two targets between those contests.

  • Raiders' Michael Mayer: Iffy for Sunday's contest

Mayer (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.

The Raiders are listing their top two tight ends as questionable for the contest, as Brock Bowers (knee) is also taking a designation into Sunday after managing just one limited practice this week. Mayer, meanwhile, was a limited participant throughout the week, but if he can clear the five-step concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's contest, he could be in line for a prominent role in the event that Bowers sits. If both Bowers and Mayer end up sitting out, however, the Raiders would be left with Ian Thomas and Carter Runyon as their healthy options at the position.

  • Brock Bowers TE | LV

Raiders' Brock Bowers: Uncertain for Sunday

Bowers (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts after not practicing Thursday and Friday.

After opening Week 5 prep as a limited practice participant, Bowers was held out entirely for sessions Thursday and Friday. Despite his downturn in activity, Bowers told Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com following Friday's session that he's feeling better each week while he manages the knee injury, and he believes the extra rest he received will allow him to suit up Sunday. Along with Bowers, the Raiders are listing Michael Mayer (concussion) as questionable, so both tight ends' statuses will be worth monitoring leading up to a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Even if Bowers is cleared to suit up this weekend, it's possible that his workload is managed to some extent after he played more than 70 percent of snaps in each of the previous three contests.

  • Mason Taylor TE | NYJ

Jets' Mason Taylor: Ready to play Sunday

Taylor (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Taylor's availability heading into Week 5 had been a bit of a question mark after he was a limited participant in practices Wednesday and Thursday, but he took every rep at Friday's session to erase any doubt about his ability to play through the ankle issue. The rookie second-round pick drew just three looks in the passing game through the first two weeks of the season, but he's seen his role increase over the past two contests, putting together a 9-83-0 receiving line on 13 targets in that span.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Clear for Week 5

Goedert (knee) was a full practice participant Friday and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Goedert sat out Week 2 at Kansas City due to a knee sprain and then wasn't able to practice Wednesday due to a knee injury. However, he progressed from that DNP to a limited showing Thursday and then handled every rep to end Week 5 prep, thereby clearing him for Sunday's contest. Over the last two games, Goedert has put together a 5-70-3 line on six targets.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Expected to remain out for Week 6

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Kittle (hamstring) is considered a "long shot" to be available for the team's Week 6 game against the Buccaneers, but the tight end could be more likely to return from injured reserve for a Week 7 matchup with the Falcons on Sunday, Oct. 19, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

After missing the requisite four games upon being placed on IR following Week 1 action, Kittle will be eligible for activation during the upcoming week, but he seemingly hasn't made enough progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury to put himself in consideration for a return just yet. The 49ers could still elect to open Kittle's 21-day practice window next week, though Shanahan hinted that the team may prefer to wait until Week 7 before having the 31-year-old get back on the field, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic. While Kittle has been out for the past four weeks, the 49ers have had Jake Tonges and Luke Farrell share snaps at tight end, with the former player proving to be the more formidable pass-catching threat.

  • Rams' Terrance Ferguson: Potential for expanded role

Head coach Sean McVay said Ferguson "is only going to get more opportunities going forward", Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.

McVay's comments come after Ferguson was active for the first time in three games. Given only four snaps on offense on Thursday against the 49ers, the rookie managed to turn his only target into a healthy 21-yard gain, which helped set up a Kyren Williams receiving touchdown a few plays later. Ferguson's second-round pedigree and a Rams' tight end room currently struggling to make much of an impact may help him quickly leap up the pecking order at tight end, and a Ravens defense struggling to keep points off the board may mark an opportunity for Ferguson to produce if McVay's comments bear fruit.

  • Darren Waller TE | MIA

Dolphins' Darren Waller: Ready for Week 5

Waller (hip/rest) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Waller, who made his regular-season debut Week 4, was listed as a limited participant in practice this week, with the Dolphins managing his practice reps after the tight end parlayed his 16 snaps in Monday's 27-21 win over the Jets into a 3-27-2 line on four targets. On the heels of that effort, Waller is a candidate to see his snap share increase this weekend, and with WR Tyreek Hill (knee) out for the season, he should have an opportunity to claim a key role in Miami's passing offense going forward in the absence of any injury setbacks.

  • Rams' Colby Parkinson: Blanked again

Parkinson failed to secure his only target during Thursday's 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers.

Even with Tyler Higbee (hip) out of action, Parkinson took a back seat to Davis Allen in terms of snap count (41 to 25) and overall production, with Allen turning his two targets into 24 yards. The goose egg marks Parkinson's second fruitless outing in three weeks, and his four receptions this year have combined for just 11 yards. Terrance Ferguson also got into the mix with a catch of his own, and the quartet of Rams tight ends will remain difficult to use for fantasy purposes even with the Ravens and their league-worst 133 points allowed next on the schedule in Week 6.
