Eagles' Boston Scott: Tests positive for virus

The Eagles placed Scott on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Scott was one of 12 Eagles placed on the list Monday after all of them tested positive for the virus. In addition to Scott, fellow running back Jordan Howard (illness) landed on the list, leaving rookie Kenneth Gainwell as the only healthy backfield option on the active roster ahead of Saturday's regular-season finale versus the Cowboys. Head coach Nick Sirianni already said earlier Monday that lead back Miles Sanders (hand) is expected to miss a second straight game this weekend.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Six touches in loss

Pollard carried the ball three times for nine yards and caught three of five targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Cardinals.

The Cowboys' ground game couldn't get going at all, with Dak Prescott ending up leading the team in rushing yards, but Pollard was able to find some success through the air. Pollard has delivered at least 50 yards from scrimmage in seven straight games, catching multiple passes in each one, but he's only found the end zone once during that stretch. He'll look to finish the regular season on a high note Week 18 against the Eagles, but with the Cowboys having little to play for, Pollard could be among the players who get extra rest ahead of the playoffs.

  • Michael Carter RB | TEN

    Jets' Michael Carter: Concussion confirmed

Head coach Robert Saleh confirmed that Carter was placed in the concussion protocol after exiting Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Buccaneers, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.

Carter got off to a nice start Sunday with three carries for 54 yards to go with a nine-yard reception on the Jets' two scoring drives in the first quarter, but the head injury prevented him from turning in an even bigger performance. According to Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record, Saleh said the Jets are hopeful Carter can clear the five-step protocol ahead of the Week 18 game in Buffalo, so the rookie won't be shut down if he makes good progress in his recovery over the next few days. After Carter departed Sunday, Austin Walter led the backfield with 14 carries for 49 yards, but Tevin Coleman (reserve/COVID-19 list) could step in as the Jets' No. 1 option on the ground if he's cleared to play the Bills and Carter isn't available.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Headed for Week 18 absence

Head coach Nick Sirianni said Sanders (hand) isn't expected to play Saturday against the Cowboys, though the Eagles are hopeful the running back will be ready to go for the wild-card round of the playoffs, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

While they were without their top back Week 17, the Eagles were still able to punch their ticket to the postseason with a 20-16 win over Washington, plus some help from other teams. In place of Sanders, the Eagles turned to Boston Scott (14 carries for 47 yards and two touchdowns) as their lead option on the ground, though Jordan Howard (11 carries for 26 yards) saw a steady amount of involvement, too. With little at stake for the Eagles in Week 18, Sanders looks like he'll have another opportunity to let his fractured hand heal, but he should have a decent chance at being ready to go for the start of the postseason.

  • Tony Jones RB | ARI

Saints' Tony Jones: Little output in Ingram's absence

Jones rushed once for minus-2 yards during Sunday's 18-10 win over the Panthers.

The absence of Mark Ingram (knee) seemingly pushed Jones into the No. 2 role at running back, but he only saw nine offensive snaps compared to 45 for Kamara and 20 for fullback Adam Prentice. Meanwhile, Kamara and quarterback Taysom Hill ended up handling 89 percent of the rushing attempts. Even if Ingram remains sidelined Week 18 against Atlanta, it doesn't seem as if Jones will have a workload that could lead to useful fantasy numbers.

  • Eagles' Kenneth Gainwell: Just one touch in win

Gainwell took his lone carry for four yards in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Football Team.

Gainwell played just eight snaps on offense, even with Miles Sanders out due to a broken hand. It marks the third straight game for the rookie of under 10 offensive snaps played.

  • 49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Limited to seven snaps

Hasty caught his lone target for six yards and did not receive a carry in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Texans.

Elijah Mitchell (knee) returned from a three-game absence and reclaimed the primary tailback role in San Francisco. Hasty was the only other true running back to record a touch, despite playing five less offensive snaps than fellow backup Jeff Wilson. Assuming Mitchell is a full go for Week 18, Hasty will be limited to a small receiving back role against the Rams next Sunday.

  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Quiet in No. 3 role

Reynolds rushed four times for four yards during Sunday's 51-29 loss to Seattle.

Reynolds got a handful of touches throughout the game, but the return of D'Andre Swift predictably pushed Reynolds into a tertiary role. With no injuries to report for either of Swift or Jamaal Williams, Reynolds presumably will remain that way Week 18 against Green Bay.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

49ers' Jeff Wilson: Gets 12 snaps as backup

Wilson was on the field for 12 offensive snaps (19 percent) and did not receive a touch in Sunday's 23-7 win over Houston.

Elijah Mitchell (knee) returned from a three-game absence, bumping Wilson back into a backup role in the process. The lack of touches comes as a bit of a surprise, though the veteran back wasn't expected to have a significant role once the 49ers' starter returned. Fellow backup JaMycal Hasty stuck in his third-down role and finished with seven snaps on offense. Neither backup will have fantasy value against the Rams next Sunday as long as Mitchell remains healthy.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Participating in individual drills

Henry (foot) will participate in individual drills Monday, Joe Rexrode of The Athletic reports.

Henry underwent surgery to address a broken fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot at the beginning of November. Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that the team doesn't have plans for Henry to suit up for Sunday's Week 18 matchup against the Texans, but the team will decide sometime this week whether to designate the running back to return from injured reserve. Although it doesn't appear as though the 27-year-old will be able to return during the regular season, he'll likely have a chance to do so in the playoffs.
