Steelers' Germie Bernard: Catches game-winning TD in Week 6
Germie Bernard caught 11 of 12 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-19 overtime win over the Bucs. With Michael Pittman (foot) and Roman Wilson (finger) out for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bernard was the clear WR2 behind DK Metcalf and actually ran a team-high 54 routes on Aaron Rodgers' 56 dropbacks. Metcalf edged Bernard out in targets 15 to 12, while both players caught 11 passes. Pittman and Wilson are both required to miss at least two and three more games respectively, so Bernard is locked into an every-down role for the immediate future. Rodgers has sung the rookie wideout's praises early on this season, and it's reasonable to expect Bernard to remain a key part of the passing offense moving forward. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Set for larger role
Germie Bernard and return specialist Kaden Wetjen are the only wide receivers on Pittsburgh's active roster without injury designations for Week 6.Bernard played 93 percent of snaps in a Week 5 win over Indianapolis, catching six passes for 80 yards on a team-high nine targets. He now projects for a similar workload, at least in terms of playing time, as the Pittsburgh Steelers are still without Michael Pittman (IR - foot) and now have Roman Wilson (finger) and Ben Skowronek (calf) ruled out for Week 6. What's more, DK Metcalf is listed as questionable after missing Friday's practice with an illness. Metcalf may not be at his best even if he's able to play, and there's otherwise minimal target competition for Bernard in the WR room. The Steelers figure to deploy multi-TE formations early and often to avoid relying too heavily on practice-squad callups at WR like Brandon Johnson or Isaiah Hodgins.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Six catches in victory
Germie Bernard caught six of nine targets for 90 yards during Sunday's 34-22 win over the Colts.Bernard left the team in targets while notching six catches and 80 receiving yards, both of which were new career highs. The rookie was operating in a more prominent role with fellow wideout Michael Pittman (foot) on injured reserve, and Roman Wilson suffered a finger injury Sunday, so Bernard may see even more opportunities moving forward. Through five games this season, he has caught 20 of 33 targets for 278 yards and two touchdowns.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Two catches vs. Cleveland
Germie Bernard caught both of his passes for 11 yards during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 27-24 loss to the Browns on Thursday.Bernard was not targeted by Aaron Rodgers until late in the fourth quarter, with the duo connecting on passes for six and five yards to help set up a three-yard touchdown catch by Pat Freiermuth after the two-minute warning. The rookie second-rounder was on the field for 29 of the Steelers' 72 offensive snaps (40.3 percent), which was third-most among wide receivers behind DK Metcalf (70) and Michael Pittman (52) and ahead of Roman Wilson (22). Bernard has a 7-60-0 receiving line on 11 targets through four regular-season games, though his role in the offense will be limited behind Metcalf, Pittman, Freiermuth, Darnell Washington and Jaylen Warren. The Steelers head back home for Week 5 against the Cotls on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Team-high 35 receiving yards vs. Pats
Germie Bernard caught four passes on eight targets for 35 yards during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 20-3 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. The rookie second-rounder operated as the WR3 due to the absence of Michael Pittman (foot). Aaron Rodgers struggled at Gillette Stadium, but Bernard did his part by leading the Steelers pass catchers in receiving yards while finishing second in catches behind Roman Wilson (five) and second in targets to DK Metcalf (nine). Pittman's status for Week 3 against the Bengals on Sept. 27 is up in the air, but even if he was ruled out, Bernard's production (along with the other Steelers pass catchers) will be capped unless Rodgers improves his play.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Set for larger role Sunday
Germie Bernard is set to be the No. 3 option at wide receiver in Sunday's game against the Patriots, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. The second-round rookie will have his first opportunity as a starting member of the Pittsburgh Steelers offense due to Michael Pittman (foot) being ruled out ahead of the contest. Bernard saw just three offensive snaps in the team's Week 1 win over the Falcons, a number that should skyrocket in Week 2.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Minimally involved Sunday
Germie Bernard played three of Pittsburgh's 67 offensive snaps during Sunday's 20-13 win versus the Falcons.Bernard was able to make his pro debut in Week 1, but it didn't result in any production in the box score. Steelers' Germie Bernard: Finds end zone in final exhibition game
Germie Bernard caught one of two targets for a 13-yard touchdown in Thursday's 28-27 preseason loss to the Bills. The Pittsburgh Steelers rested their starters and key personnel, but Bernard played the first quarter and connected with Will Howard (head) on a one-play scoring drive after Buffalo's Ray Davis muffed a punt. Bernard's usage Thursday would seem to suggest he'll begin the season No. 4 on the wide receiver depth chart behind DK Metcalf (undisclosed), Michael Pittman (hamstring) and Roman Wilson, but the 2026 second-round pick could find himself in a key role early if either of the injured veterans ahead of him wind up not being ready for Week 1.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Fails to record catch in Friday's loss
Germie Bernard did not catch his lone target during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 17-0 preseason loss to the Jets on Friday. Both DK Metcalf (undisclosed) and Michael Pittman (hamstring) were sidelined for Friday's exhibition contest, so Bernard joined Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek in the Steelers' first-team offense. The offense struggled with both Will Howard and Drew Allar under center, and Bernard failed to log any receiving yards despite playing 29 snaps. The rookie second-rounder is currently listed as the Steelers' No. 4 wideout behind Metcalf, Pittman and Wilson, and Thursday's preseason finale against the Bills presents Bernard his last opportunity to push for the WR3 job before the conclusion of training camp.

Steelers' Germie Bernard: Takes advantage of opportunity Thursday
Germie Bernard caught four of five targets for 51 yards in Thursday's 28-9 preseason win over the Packers.'The rookie wideout tied tight end Robert Tonyan for the Pittsburgh Steelers' lead in receptions, but that production came with Mason Rudolph under center as Aaron Rodgers got the night off, and the team's top two wideouts DK Metcalf (undisclosed) and Michael Pittman (leg) sidelined. While it's encouraging that Bernard took advantage of his opportunity, and he did out-produce his main competition for the WR3 role in Roman Wilson, he still has a lot to prove to land on the fantasy radar in most formats.
