Patriots' A.J. Brown: Headed to Patriots

The Eagles are trading A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, New England is sending a 2028 first-round pick and 2027 fifth-round pick to Philadelphia in exchange for the wideout.Following months of speculation, the two sides have finally reached a deal to send the 28-year-old wideout to New England. Waiting until June 1 always made sense for the Eagles, as doing so allows the team to spread Brown's $43.5 million dead-cap hit over the next two seasons, rather than absorbing it all this year. In anticipation of the move, this offseason Philadelphia bolstered a WR corps (which continues to feature DeVonta Smith) by adding Dontayvion Wicks in a trade, Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore via free agency, as well as selecting Makai Lemon 20th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. From the Patriots' perspective, Brown reunites with Mike Vrabel -- who coached him in Tennessee - and gives ascending young QB Drake Maye a legitimate No. 1 option in a wide receiver corps that also includes Romeo Doubs, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams. Steady weekly volume should be the norm for Brown in his new uniform, which puts the 2019 second-rounder in a position to continue to be a reliable fantasy producer this coming season.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Eagles add first-round WR

The Philadelphia Eagles' selection of WR Makai Lemon with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft provides further indication that the team is preparing to move on from A.J. Brown, Tim McManus of ESPN.com and Zach Berman of The Athletic report.McManus notes that Adam Schefter of ESPN previously suggested Brown appears likely to be traded to the Patriots on or after June 1, and the addition of Lemon to a Philadelphia wideout corps that has already brought in Hollywood Brown, Dontayvion Wicks and Elijah Moore this offseason is another sign pointing to such an outcome. Meanwhile, the Patriots opted to bolster their offensive line depth in Round 1 rather than add a high-profile rookie WR by selecting offensive tackle Caleb Lomu 28th overall. For his part, however, Eagles GM Howie Roseman remains reluctant to tip his hand regarding the team's plans for Brown, stating Thursday, "For us, A.J. is a member of the Eagles. ... We don't have any trades that have been made or that are done. And I think for us, we're taking this one day at a time."

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Patriots remain in mix for trade

The Patriots remain at the clear forefront in terms of trade talks for A.J. Brown, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.Considering that a potential deal for Brown isn't likely to happen before June 1, Schefter notes that another team still could emerge as a contender to acquire the wideout, but for now the Patriots appear to be the favorite to land the 28-year-old. Added context regarding the chances of New England being Brown's landing spot will arrive in the coming days, via the team's approach to the WR position at the upcoming NFL Draft. Meanwhile, since the end of the 2025 regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles have bolstered their depth at wide receiver by adding Hollywood Brown, Dontayvion Wicks and Elijah Moore.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: GM Roseman won't reveal much

Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman avoided questions about A.J. Brown's future while talking with reporters Tuesday, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.Roseman initially declined to comment on Brown when answering a two-part question, instead focusing on recent trade acquisition Dontayvion Wicks. When a different reporter asked about Brown again, Roseman responded, "What do you think the odds of me answering this question any different than I answered it anywhere else?" Roseman then repeated his line from earlier this offseason, saying "A.J. Brown's an Eagle." The response will do nothing to quiet trade rumors, with numerous reports suggesting the Eagles had serious talks with the Rams and Patriots in March. From a cap standpoint, it becomes much easier for the Eagles to move on from Brown after June 1, which means this could drag out for a while even if the team has already made an internal decision of sorts.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Won't be traded at this time

While the Philadelphia Eagles have held conversations with the Patriots and Rams, A.J. Brown will not be traded at this time, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports. Both the Rams and Patriots have been linked to Brown in recent weeks, as he has familiarity with coach Mike Vrabel from their time together in Tennessee. In Los Angeles, the team needs a third receiver, and the two sides had conversations before the Rams pulled off a deal for Trent McDuffie from the Chiefs last week. According to Russini, talks could heat back up closer to June 1, as no move is believed to be imminent. There's been a whole lot of smoke surrounding Brown this offseason, and that typically indicates there's fire, so a trade can't be written off at some point.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Could still be traded

The Philadelphia Eagles have discussed trading A.J. Brown in recent weeks, including dialogue with the Rams before they traded for CB Trent McDuffie, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports. The report notes that Los Angeles remains interested, though negotiations slowed down after the McDuffie acquisition. New England is mentioned most often in trade rumors, even after reaching a four-year agreement with WR Romeo Doubs. The Eagles, meanwhile, don't seem to be in any rush, which makes sense given that any deal completed June 1 (or later) would have the dead-cap charge split between 2026 and 2027 (rather than taking the entire $43.4 million hit this year). One or two suitors may lose interest between now and then, especially after the NFL Draft, but there will always be some market for a player with six 1,000-yard seasons through seven years in the NFL. If the Eagles aren't happy with offers, they may instead try to sell Brown on the idea of an improved passing game under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Wanted by Eagles, but no guarantees

Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni said Tuesday that his "expectation" is that A.J. Brown wants remain with the Philadelphia Eagles but that he "can't guarantee" the wide receiver will play for the team in 2026, Tim McManus of ESPN reports."[M]y expectation is [Brown] wants to be here," Sirianni said. "And obviously you want good players like that in your building," but he noted that "I can't guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season." Brown secured 78 of 121 targets for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns across 15 regular-season appearances in 2025, but at times he openly expressed frustration with the consistency of Philadelphia's offense. General manager Howie Roseman emphasized the fact that it is "really hard to find great players" when asked about Brown's status, but he also said the Eagles' policy is "listening to offers for everything and anything." In the event that Brown were to be traded, doing so prior to June 1 would result in Philadelphia incurring over $40 million in dead cap, compared to less than $20 million after that date.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Costly drops in playoff loss

A.J. Brown caught three of seven targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 23-19 wild-card game loss to the 49ers.Brown didn't have a catch after the first quarter, recording a couple of costly drops after that point, including one on Philadelphia's final drive of the season, which ended with a turnover on downs from San Francisco's 21-yard line. The enigmatic wide receiver was seen having an animated discussion with head coach Nick Sirianni on the sideline during the game. Brown expressed frustration with his target volume throughout the campaign despite finishing with a team-high 121 targets in the regular season, which he turned into 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, but he came up short with his opportunities in the playoffs as the Philadelphia Eagles were eliminated in their first postseason matchup. Despite his love-hate relationship with the coaching staff, Brown likely isn't going anywhere since he's under contract through 2029.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Doesn't play in Week 18

A.J. Brown was active but didn't see any action in Sunday's 24-17 loss to Washington.Brown was ultimately given the week off as the Philadelphia Eagles gear up for the postseason. The wide receiver will finish his fourth campaign in Philadelphia having caught 78 of 121 targets for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns over 15 regular-season contests. Brown will now look to take advantage of an unimpressive 49ers secondary in the wild-card round next weekend.

Eagles' A.J. Brown: Leading receiver on seven targets

A.J. Brown hauled in five of seven targets for 68 yards in Sunday's 13-12 win over the Bills.Brown missed a pair of practice sessions early in the week after having his wisdom teeth removed, but the procedure did not limit the wideout's availability in Sunday's road victory. The 28-year-old paced the Philadelphia Eagles in targets, receptions and yardage while ceding the team's only touchdown reception to TE Dallas Goedert (3-8-1). Brown's solid effort pushed him over the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth consecutive season. The star receiver is looking for a strong finish to the regular season against the Commanders in Week 18.
