Cousins also threw multiple touchdown passes for the sixth time in seven games, connecting with Tre Tucker (37 yards) and Ashton Jeanty (15 yards) for fourth-quarter scoring strikes. Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Impressive numbers in Week 6 loss
Kirk Cousins completed 23 of 41 passes for 313 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Las Vegas Raiders' 33-30 loss to the Bills on Sunday.Cousins completed a season-low 56.1 percent of his passes, but the veteran signal-caller went toe to toe with Josh Allen and nearly helped Las Vegas force overtime, at minimum, with a 17-point fourth quarter. Cousins first led a 15-play, 70-yard march that culminated in a Matt Gay field goal beginning in the latter portion of the third quarter, and he subsequently recorded 11- and 44-yard scoring strikes to Tre Tucker. While the Raiders came up just short, Cousins posted his second-highest passing yardage tally of the campaign and threw multiple TD passes for the fifth time in six contests. Cousins will face off with another marquee passer in Matthew Stafford when the Rams pay a visit for a Week 7 interconference showdown Sunday.

Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Gives way to Mendoza late in rout
Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 28 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 45-17 loss to the Patriots. The lopsided result owed much more to the fact that the Las Vegas Raiders defense couldn't stop Drake Maye than it did to Cousins' performance, but it still provided coach Klint Kubiak with an opportunity to give Fernando Mendoza his first snaps in the NFL on the team's final drive. Las Vegas has lost two straight games with Cousins under center after a 3-0 start, and while the veteran QB has a more than respectable 12:4 TD:INT and 65.1 percent completion rate in his five starts, he was always going to be a placeholder until the first overall pick in the 2026 draft was deemed ready to take over. A switch at quarterback may not be imminent, but the clock is ticking on Cousins' tenure as the starter heading into a Week 6 battle with the Bills.

Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Throws for 365, two TDs in loss
Kirk Cousins completed 31 of 52 passes for 365 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Chiefs. He also threw a successful two-point conversion.Cousins opened the scoring with a 27-yard touchdown pass to Ian Thomas in the first quarter, but his next touchdown pass didn't come until 1:46 remained in the fourth quarter, when Cousins connected with Brock Bowers for a 20-yard touchdown and added a two-point conversion to Cody White to cut the Las Vegas Raiders' deficit to three points. Vegas got the ball back, but Cousins was picked off on the game's penultimate play as the Raiders' comeback bid came up short. Despite Sunday's setback, Cousins has led the Raiders to a 3-1 record while posting an 11:4 TD:INT heading into a Week 5 road game against the Patriots.

Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Tosses three TDs in another Vegas win
Kirk Cousins completed 22 of 33 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 35-27 win over the Saints. He added three rushing yards on three carries. The veteran QB got his first chance to work with Brock Bowers, but it was Michael Mayer and Cody White who were on the other end of Cousins' first two TDs of the afternoon, before he connected with his superstar tight end for a four-yard score in the fourth quarter that provided the game-winning points. Cousins has led the Las Vegas Raiders to a stunning 3-0 record to begin the season, completing 67.4 percent (62-for-92) of his passes for 661 yards with a 9:3 TD:INT, and 2026 first overall pick Fernando Mendoza could be waiting a while before he gets a chance to make his first NFL start. Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Tosses three TDs in upset win
Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 29 passes for 253 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while rushing four times for one yard in the Las Vegas Raiders' 26-14 win over the Chargers on Sunday.Cousins' crisp and nearly mistake-free performance was critical to the Raiders pulling off a significant upset over their divisional rival. The veteran signal-caller validated head coach Klint Kubiak's decision to open the season with him as the starter over first overall pick Fernando Mendoza, with Cousins delivering a 40-yard strike to Tre Tucker in the first quarter and 13- and 11-yard scoring tosses to Cody White in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. Cousins has shown very good command of Kubiak's offense over the first two games, and he'll take a 67.8 percent completion rate and a 6:3 TD:INT into an intriguing interconference road matchup against the Saints next Sunday.

Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Sidesteps pair of picks in win
Kirk Cousins completed 21 of 30 passes for 160 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions and rushed five times for minus-6 yards in the Las Vegas Raiders' 27-13 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. As his final line indicates, the majority of Cousins' passing line was far from scintillating from a fantasy perspective, but his three touchdown passes were an entirely different story. Cousins hit Jack Bech from 15 yards out for his first scoring strike of the afternoon in the first quarter, and his subsequent pair of TD passes both went for 13 yards apiece to Ashton Jeanty. Cousins' overall numbers also should be viewed within the context of Brock Bowers (knee) being unavailable, and reports indicate the veteran signal-caller could have the star tight end at his disposal for a Week 2 divisional road matchup against the Chargers next Sunday.

Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Named starting quarterback
Coach Klint Kubiak named Kirk Cousins the Las Vegas Raiders' starting quarterback Wednesday, Sam Warren of The Athletic reports. It was a decision everyone expected and comes as no surprise after Cousins worked with the first-team offense all offseason. Cousins played 30 offensive snaps during the preseason and completed 13 of 17 pass attempts for 101 yards and one touchdown, while rookie No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza was more scattershot, completing just 26 of 46 passes for 250 yards, one touchdown and a pair of picks. Cousins should have a somewhat long leash to begin the season, but Mendoza remains very likely to see rookie-year playing time.

Raiders' Kirk Cousins: Expected to be named starter
Kirk Cousins is expected to be named starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com reports.Raiders coach Klint Kubiak had refused to announce a decision on Las Vegas' Week 1 quarterback throughout the preseason, but Cousins has been listed as the No. 1 QB on the team's depth chart during training camp and the exhibition slate. The veteran signal-caller was also more effective than rookie No. 1 draft pick Fernando Mendoza during preseason play, completing 13 of 17 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions to Mendoza's 25-for-45 line with one TD and two pickoffs. Cousins will thus have the first opportunity to helm the Raiders offense, which features an elite tight end in Brock Bowers but one of the NFL's shallowest wide-receiver corps. Should Cousins and/or the team struggle, Mendoza could eventually be given a chance to start later in the campaign, though it's possible he'll be asked to observe and learn from the bench for his entire rookie season.

Raiders' Kirk Cousins: QB1 decision still pending
Coach Klint Kubiak said after Thursday's preseason game against the 49ers that he hasn't made a decision between Kirk Cousins and rookie first overall pick Fernando Mendoza regarding who will be the Week 1 starting quarterback, Vincent Bonsignore of the California Post reports.Cousins opened training camp as the Las Vegas Raiders' starting QB and has been listed as No. 1 on the depth chart throughout camp and exhibition season. On Thursday, he started and completed eight of 11 passes for 51 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions, which seemingly wasn't enough to lock down the job over Mendoza. As a result, this situation remains the top lingering job battle in advance of Week 1.
