Jones was released by the Seahawks on Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
With Irvin Charles (knee) activated from injured reserve Tuesday, Jones was released to clear a roster spot. The 29-year-old appeared in four of Seattle's five games this season, mainly on special teams. Jones might draw interest from at least a few teams around the league, though since he is a vested veteran and won't need to clear waivers, Seattle could hypothetically sign him to the practice squad.
