Mitchell had a tryout with the Jets on Wednesday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Mitchell was let go by the 49ers in early August after reaching an injury settlement. He now appears to have left the undisclosed injury behind him. New York is dealing with injuries to cornerbacks D.J. Reed (concussion) and Brandin Echols (hamstring) entering the week.
