Penny (calf) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
As expected, the Seahawks continue to exercise caution with Penny, the oft-injured back who has made just four appearances the past two seasons. On a positive note, coach Pete Carroll told Boyle on Wednesday that Penny's left calf is closing in on 100 percent health. Still, there's an expectation Penny misses a third game in a row Sunday in San Francisco, which would allow Travis Homer and Alex Collins to handle the RB snaps that Chris Carson yields to the reserves.
