West had 23 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns, adding four catches for 36 yards on six targets, in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Giants.
Kenneth Dixon gained 12 yards on three touches, while Javorius Allen didn't get a single carry or target. West dominated the backfield work despite getting off to a slow start on the ground, ultimately finishing with a pair of goal-line touchdowns, in addition to season-high marks for carries, receptions and targets. He could've had an even bigger day, as he was stuffed on three goal-line tries at the end of a third-quarter drive, including on fourth down from the one-yard line. West may not dominate the workload to such an extent every week, but he's clearly the team's lead back, with a role that includes goal-line carries and at least a portion of the passing-down snaps. The only bad news is that he'll face a stiff Jets run defense in Week 7, and will then be on bye in Week 8.
