West carried eight times for 42 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He added 11 yards while hauling in one of two targets in the 27-17 loss.
West showed impressive burst on an 18-yard touchdown run in the first quarter but tied his season-low in attempts and wasn't afforded enough opportunities to be effective. Rookie Kenneth Dixon received six carries and gained 40 yards but suffered a similar fate as the Ravens all but abandoned the running game. Sunday's results were indicative of the recent trend in playing time, as West and Dixon split the workload somewhat evenly, with the former holding a slight advantage. Baltimore will need to reestablish itself as a running team in order to improve its current 5-5 record and the next opportunity will come next week against the Bengals.
