Rams' Cam Akers: No practice Wednesday

Akers (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Akers missed a portion of the first half of the Rams' recent win in the NFC Championship Game against the 49ers due to a shoulder injury, resulting in his second-lowest share of offensive snaps (39 percent) since making his season debut Week 18 following an Achilles tear suffered in July. Still, he was far more efficient than backfield mate Sony Michel, taking 14 touches for 50 yards from scrimmage versus the latter's 11 touches for 12 total yards on 57 percent of those plays. The Rams likely are easing Akers into preparation for a Super Bowl matchup with the Bengals on Feb. 13, but his status will be one to monitor to make sure he's set to play in the season finale.
