Mack was released by San Francisco on Tuesday.
Mack signed to the 49ers' practice squad Sept. 13, and he ultimately made it to the active roster in Week 3 and 4, but he only contributed five snaps on special teams. He was a healthy inactive Week 5, as the team opted to elevate Tevin Coleman from the practice squad to operate as the team's No. 3 running back instead. Mack has had trouble finding a steady role since suffering an Achilles tear in Week 1 of the 2020 season.
