The Giants released Ward on Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Ward was signed to the Giants' active roster Oct. 1 and played in both Weeks 5 and 6, logging one solo tackle over that span while operating in a rotational role defensively. The 2016 second-rounder will hit the open market and should draw interest from teams looking to add veteran depth to their defensive line.
