Carter rushed 11 times for 37 yards and caught eight of nine targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 54-13 loss to the Patriots. He also lost a fumble.
Carter led the Jets in both rushing and receiving yards, but the strong effort was marred by the first fumble of the rookie's career. Backup quarterback Mike White checked down to Carter frequently after starter Zach Wilson left with a knee injury. If White remains under center, Carter likely would continue to play an outsize role in the passing game against the Bengals in Week 8 in addition to working as the top rushing option in the low-scoring Jets offense.
